Summer Lee Graham of Pikeville and Marshall Taylor Carr of Goldsboro exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony Sept. 10 at 5 p.m. at The First Pentecostal Holiness Church, with Bill Rose officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Jerry and Deborah Graham of Pikeville and the granddaughter of B.J. and Ann Lee of Mount Olive and Alice House and the late Earl House of LaGrange.

She graduated from Princeton High School in 2004 and Wayne Community College School of Nursing in 2008. She is employed as registered nurse in the intensive care unit at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

The groom is the son of Alan and Beth Carr of Goldsboro and the grandson of Marshall and June Carr of Wilson and Inez Perkins and the late Calbert Perkins of Goldsboro.

He graduated from Rosewood High School in 2004 and East Carolina University in 2008 with a degree in construction management. He is employed as a concrete rep at S. T. Wooten Corp.

The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.

She wore a couture satin slim A-line gown with a sweetheart neckline and crystal jeweled band accenting the empire waist with a fluted side drape with jeweled detail. She also wore a handmade satin collar tie necklace with diamonds and Swarovski crystals.

Her headpiece was a 1920s-inspired custom birdcage veil with beaded accents.

The bride carried a satin hand-tied bouquet of pink miniature calla lilies and green hydrangeas accented with orchids.

Hillarie Williams of Goldsboro was matron of honor, while Jena Bish of Dover was maid of honor.

Bridesmaids were Emily Waddell of Goldsboro, sister of the groom; Tsehaye Dagnachew of Greenville, friend of the bride; Ashley McPhail of Norfolk, Va., cousin of the bride; and Malissa Graham of Princeton, sister-in-law of the bride.

Alan Carr was his son’s best man.

Groomsmen were Wade Graham of Princeton, brother of the bride; Joel Waddell of Goldsboro, brother-in-law of the groom; Jeff Baumgartner of Princeton and Josh Allen, friends of the groom; and Adam Keen of Wilmington, cousin of the groom.

Ushers were Josh Barnes of Archers Lodge, Matt Turner of Pinetops and Blake Cason of Raleigh, friends of the groom, and Lee Perkins of Angier, cousin of the groom.

Abbie Sanders, Hannah Sanders, Saylor Johnson and Carlee Waddell, nieces of the groom, were flower girls. Maddox Johnson was ringbearer.

Julie Hales directed the wedding. Presiding at the register were Casey Reid of Wilmington, Whitney Morgan of Wilson, Blair Barnes of Archers Lodge and Karen Benton of LaGrange.

Greeters were Scott and Stephanie Johnson of Goldsboro and Jason and Kim Strickland of Princeton.

A program of wedding music was provided by Phil Huffman, pianist, and Jill Howell, Jay Sauls and Steven Reaves, vocalists.

Following the ceremony, the bride’s parent hosted a reception in the church MTC facility.

After their wedding trip to St. Lucia, the couple will reside in Goldsboro.

Events held before the wedding included a shrimp and wings, lawn and tool party June 25 hosted by Steve and Beverly Keen and Donna Best; a bridal shower July 31 at the First Pentecostal Holiness Church hosted by the bride’s family; a dessert bridal shower Aug. 14 at the home of Donna Best hosted by family and friends of the groom; a bridal shower Aug. 24 hosted by the nurses of the ICU; a lingerie shower Aug. 26 hosted by Emily Waddell, sister of the groom, Blair Barnes, cousin of the groom, and Stephanie Johnson, friend of the bride; and a bridesmaids’ luncheon Sept. 9 at the Peach House hosted by Jena Bish and Marleen Edwards.

The groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at Quince A Southern Bistro.
