Gwaltney-Hillard
Jennifer Hillard of Aberdeen and Morgan Gwaltney of Aberdeen exchanged vows June 18 at 4 p.m. in Garden City Beach, S.C.
The bride is the daughter of Bill and Barbara Hillard of Blanchester, Ohio, and the granddaughter of Beryl Hillard of Blanchester and Clara Fitzpatrick of Milford, Ohio.
She is a graduate of Wright State University in Ohio. She is employed as a sales and event coordinator with Carolina Trace Country Club in Sanford.
The groom is the son of Wayne and Gayle Gwaltney of Goldsboro, the grandson of Jarvis and Joyce Gwaltney, Dwight and Etheleen Butts and the late Jesse Berry James and the great-grandson of the late Melvin and Isabelle Gwaltney.
He is a 2005 graduate of North Carolina State University with a bachelor’s degree in textile engineering. He is employed as a process engineer for Atex Technologies in Pinehurst.
The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.
She wore an intermission-length gown of satin organza with a strapless sweetheart neckline. The gathered bodice was encrusted with diamate crystal embellishments under it.
Her headpiece was a birdnest veil.
The bride carried a handtied bouquet of tropical white orchids with magenta throats also with green calla lilies and white stephanotis.
A program of wedding music was provided by Nancy Basil, who was vocalist and guitarist.
Following the ceremony, a dinner reception was held at Captain Dave’s Dock Side Restaurant in Garden City. A cake cutting was held. Jarvis Gwaltney, brother of the groom, gave a toast to the couple.
Events held before the wedding include an engagement dinner at Pineview Baptist Church hosted by the groom’s parents; a bachelor party at Drake Landing in Fuquay-Varina hosted by John Sabadish and David Sturm, friends of the groom; and a barbecue/cooking in Blanchester hosted by the bride’s parents.
