Stroud-Hartley
Ashley Frances Hartley of Mount Olive and Lehman Christopher Stroud of Kinston exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony June 25 at 4 p.m. at Friendly Holiness Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church in Mount Olive, with the Rev. Christopher Moore officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Ronnie Lee Hartley and Yvonne Edwards Hartley of Mount Olive and the granddaughter of Adell and Tempie Hartley of Goldsboro and Albert and Audie Edwards of Mount Olive.
She is a 2005 graduate of Southern Wayne High School and a 2010 graduate of Mount Olive College with a bachelor’s degree in business administration and minors in music and human resource management. She is employed as administrative assistant for the office of church support at Mount Olive College.
The groom is the son of Lehman Russell Stroud of LaGrange and Teresa Hill Moody of Kinston and the grandson of Bernice Stroud, the late Lehman Stroud and Ernest and Ella Langston of Kinston.
He is a 2007 graduate of South Lenoir High School and a 2010 graduate of Mount Olive College with a bachelor’s degree in agriscience education. He is employed as an agriculture education teacher and FFA advisor at Ayden-Grifton High School.
The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.
She wore a gown of white bridal satin. The bodice featured a sweetheart neckline and beading along the Basque waistline. Cap sleeves adorned the top and matching embroidery decorated the A-line skirt. A full-length cathedral train completed the gown.
Her headpiece was a fingertip-length veil embellished with crystal beading with a jeweled tiara.
The bride carried a semi-cascade bouquet of white Casablanca lilies, red and white roses, green berries and babies breath adorned with ribbon and greenery.
Jennifer Sawyer was her cousin’s matron of honor, while Lauren Edwards and Elizabeth Moore, cousins of the bride, were maids of honor.
Russell Stroud was his son’s best man.
Groomsmen were Jonathan Hartley, brother of the bride, and Randall Moody, brother of the groom.
Ushers were Michael Moore and Matthew Edwards, cousins of the bride.
Amber Shumate, cousin of the bride, was the junior bridesmaid.
Amie S. Moore directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Christy Johnson, friend of the bride. Kayla Johnson, friend of the bride, distributed programs.
A program of wedding music was provided by Rosemary Moore, aunt of the bride, pianist, and Jason and Jamie Cox, friends of the bride, and Jennifer Sawyer, cousin of the bride, vocalists.
Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents hosted a dinner reception at the church family life center.
Events held before the wedding included a Christmas Shower Dec. 13 at the home of Hope M. Fields hosted by friends of the bride; a bridal shower March 25 at Pizza Village in Mount Olive hosted by colleagues of the bride; a bridal shower April 9 at the home of Teresa Moody hosted by the groom’s family and friends; a lingerie shower April 16 at the home of Rose Moore hosted by Jennifer Sawyer, Elizabeth Moore, Lauren Edwards and Amie Moore; a bridal shower April 17 at Friendly Holiness Church fellowship hall hosted by the bride’s family and friends; a bridal shower June 2 at Rucker John’s in Greenville hosted by the groom’s co-workers; and a bridesmaids’ luncheon June 11 at the Ashford Inn in Clinton hosted by Rosemary Moore and Melissa Edwards, aunts of the bride.
The groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner June 24 at Riverlanding Country Club in Wallace.
