Pate-Lane
Samatha Jean Lane and Jonathan Paul Pate exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony Dec. 11 at 5:30 p.m. at Pikeville Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church, with Don Sauls officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Charles Glenn Lane and the late Paula Outlaw Lane of Goldsboro and the granddaughter of the late Howard Triplett, Linda Sue Triplett, the late Willam Earl Outlaw and Jean Outlaw of Goldsboro.
She is a 2003 graduate of Spring Creek High School and a 2009 graduate of Wayne Community College. She is employed as a turkey accountant at Goldsboro Milling Co.
The groom is the son of Lisa Pate Kendall and the late Jimmy Doyce Pate of Goldsboro and the grandson of the late Joe Pate and Ruby Pate of Fremont and Paul and Gladys Goff of Goldsboro.
He graduated from Charles B. Aycock in 2003 and Wayne Community College in 2005. He is employed as a tech engineer at Benton and Sons Fabrications.
The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her father and brother.
She wore a white satin A-line gown with removable cap sleeves, a chiffon split front and metallic embroidery with a chapel-length train.
Her headpiece was a two-tiered U-shaped shoulder-length veil with rhinestones around the bottom with a silver tiara of rhinestone scroll detail, crystals and pearls.
The bride carried flowers from her mother’s Christmas arrangement on her grave, a mixture of red magnolias, white calla lilies, pinecones and greenery from a Christmas pine.
Kalin Bennett was maid of honor.
Bridesmaids were Karlie Newsome, Allison Sutton, Sarah Casey and Kelsey Blalock.
Paul Goff was best man.
Groomsmen were Brandon Lane, Trey Lane, Vann Lancaster and Brooks Blalock.
Ushers were Cody Britt and Ethan Ipok.
Patsy Mozingo directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Kathleen Connolly. Summer Scott distributed programs.
Special helpers were Hope Casey, Carylon Owens, Jerry Owens, Towanna Campbell, Chris Martin, Faye Smith and Penny McCullen.
A program of wedding music was provided by Jeff Lane, Gwen Pate and Tyron Corbett, vocalists.
Following the ceremony, family and friends of the bride hosted a reception in the fellowship hall.
After their wedding trip to Virginia, the couple will reside in Goldsboro.
Events held before the wedding included a bridal shower Oct. 17 hosted by the bride’s family; a wedding shower Nov. 7 hosted by the groom’s family; a bachelor party Aug. 20 through 22 in Myrtle Beach, S.C., hosted by the groom’s friends; and a bachelorette party Sept. 10 through 12 Myrtle Beach hosted by Kalin Bennett.
The groom’s family hosted a rehearsal dinner Dec. 10.
