Moss - Hobgood
Jessica Carol Hobgood of Lillington and William Alan Moss exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony Oct. 9 at 4:30 p.m. at the beach home of Patricia Moss, aunt of the groom, at Topsail Island, with the Rev. Ronnie Vann Hobgood, father of the bride, officiating, assisted by Joshua Thomas Hobgood, brother of the bride.
The bride is the daughter of Ronnie Vann and Mitzi Corbett Hobgood of LaGrange and the granddaughter of Doris Oakley Britt and Doris McRoy Corbett of LaGrange, the late William Carroll Hobgood and Charles Thomas Britt of Farmville and the late Jesse Lathan Corbett of Ayden.
She graduated from East Carolina University with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education and a master’s degree in reading education. She is employed as a first-grade teacher at Anderson Creek Primary School in Harnett County.
The groom is the son of Kenneth Alan and Cynthia Ballard Moss of Lillington and the grandson of the late Billy and Bessie Moss of Bunn Level and Bonny and Jean Ballard of Lillington.
He graduated from Campbell University with a bachelor’s degree. He is employed as a public utilities inspector at Harnett County and is also the president of Moss Home Builders and Realty.
The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.
Melissa Hobgood Smith was her cousin’s matron of honor.
Bridesmaids were Winifred Britt Gaynor, aunt of the bride, and Erica Stocks Evans, friend of the bride.
Richard Alexander Moss, brother of the groom, and Kenneth Alan Moss, father of the groom, were the best men.
Joshua Thomas Hobgood, brother of the bride, was the groomsman.
Christine Taylor Parrish, directed the wedding, assisted by Madison Hines. Presiding at the register was Madison Caroline Hobgood, cousin of the bride. Anna Brooks Gaynor, cousin of the bride, distributed programs.
A program of wedding music was provided by Donald Parrish, sound technician.
Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents hosted a reception at Beach House Marina and Yacht Club in Surf City.
After their wedding trip to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, the couple will reside in Lillington.
Events held before the wedding included a pig picking Aug. 14 in Lillington hosted by bride’s family; an around-the-house shower Aug. 28 in Fuquay-Varina hosted by Vicki Currin, aunt of the groom; a Christmas Shower Sept. 18 in LaGrange hosted by Christine Parrish, Marian Kennedy and Vicki Bannister; and a celebration reception Nov. 14 in the church fellowship hall in LaGrange hosted by the bride’s parents.
The groom’s parents hosted a pig picking rehearsal dinner at the beach home of Patricia Moss, aunt of the groom.
