Jones - Gurley
GRANTHAM — Crystal Nicole Gurley and James Bradley Jones of Goldsboro exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony June 19 at 4 p.m. at Falling Creek Baptist Church, with the Rev. .Jerry Hannah, grandfather of the groom, officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Wayne and Brenda Cox Gurley of Grantham and the granddaughter of the late Charlie and Rachel Cox of Grantham and the late Willie and Lou Ellen Gurley of Goldsboro.
She is a 2003 graduate of Southern Wayne High School and a 2008 graduate of East Carolina University with a Bachelor of Science degree in biology. She is employed as a process development specialist at Talecris Biotherapeutics.
The groom is the son of Mitchell and Lisa Hannah Jones of Mount Olive and the grandson of the Rev. Jerry and Colleen Hannah of LaGrange and the late Bill and Bessie Jones of Mount Olive.
He is a 2003 graduate of Southern Wayne High School and a 2007 graduate of North Carolina Highway Patrol School. He is employed as a trooper with the North Carolina Highway Patrol.
The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.
She wore a white strapless gown. The bodice featured a sweetheart neckline with a beaded lace empire and a lace-up back. The skirt featured organza all over the draped pickup that flowed into a chapel-length train. The bride also wore a pearl necklace that belonged to her late maternal grandmother, Rachel Cox.
Her headpiece was a silver tiara accented with crystals and rhinestones with an elbow-length veil with floral lace edging.
The bride carried a bouquet of mixed flowers.
Jessica Kent was her friend’s matron of honor, while Jessica White was her friend’s maid of honor.
Bridesmaids were Jennifer Trotman, Brittany Craig and Sarah Darden, friends of the bride.
Mitchell Jones was his son’s best man.
Groomsmen were Jonathan Gurley, brother of the bride, and Kyle Reeves, Nick Steward and Jeremy Joyner, friends of the groom.
Charley Cox, cousin of the bride, was the junior bridesmaid. Ashton Cox, cousin of the bride, was junior groomsman.
Alyssa Darden, friend of the bride, was flower girl. Hinton Cox, cousin of the bride, was ringbearer.
Christy Cox directed the wedding. Presiding at the register were Randy and Sherri Cox. Misty Lahiff and Kaci Hagadorn distributed programs.
A program of wedding music was provided by Mike Overman.
Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents hosted a reception in the church fellowship hall. Eugene and Faye Cox, uncle and aunt of the bride, greeted guests. Karen Cox, aunt of the bride, poured punch.
After their wedding trip to Mexico, the couple will reside in Fayetteville.
Events held before the wedding included a wedding shower April 10 hosted by Jo Gurley, Shannon Walker, Denise Bartley and Lisa Anderson; a wedding shower April 25 hosted by the Homemaker’s class at Falling Creek Church; a bachelorette weekend April 30 in Myrtle Beach, S.C., hosted by friends of the bride; a cookout/gift card shower May 8 hosted by Eugene and Faye Cox, James Ray and Karen Cox, aunts and uncles of the bride, and Randy and Sherri Cox and Russ and Christy Cox, cousins of the bride; a bachelor weekend June 5 in Myrtle Beach hosted by friends of the groom; and a bridesmaids’ luncheon June 12 at Firebirds Wood Fired Grill in Raleigh hosted by the bride’s mother.
The groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner June 18 at the Steak Barn.
