Vick-Evans
RALEIGH — Chrishaunda L. Evans of Raleigh and William Demetrius Vick of Elm City exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony Oct. 3 at 6 p.m. at Sheraton Downtown Raleigh, with Stacey Evans officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Tony E. Russell of Cedar Grove, Pattie L. Hicks of Fremont and Rudolph O. Evans and the granddaughter of Mary H. Hicks of Fremont.
She is a 2000 graduate of East Carolina University with Bachelor of Science degree in recreational therapy and a 2003 graduate of Duke University with a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing. She is employed as a consultant nurse at PPD in Durham.
The groom is the son of William C. and Barbara V. Vick of Tarboro.
He is a 1992 graduate of North Carolina Central University with a Bachelor of Arts in criminal justice. He is employed as assistant director at Edgecombe Youth Development Center in Rocky Mount.
The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.
She wore a charmeuse fitted silk gown with a V-neckline edged at the shoulders with Swarovski crystals. It had an empire waist accented with a band of silver beading. The back had a V-shaped back with a sweeping train detailed with buttons and Swarovski crystals.
Her headpiece was a Russian net birdcage veil with a crystal beading accent and an off-white flower on the side that was laced in feathers and a crystal center.
The bride carried a cascade bouquet of white callas, white roses, and variegated pittosporum.
Charmaine Y. Bond was matron of honor, while Tennille Spruill was maid of honor.
Bridesmaids were Dashayna Armstrong, Tomeka Evans, Tonia Fearrington, Nicolette Hill, Tina Lewis and Danielle Speight.
Wayne Bryant was the best man.
Groomsmen were Milton Bond, Tony Flowers, Adrian Graham, Corey Pitt, Cory Smith, Charles Parker and Jeffery Walston.
Ushers were Quentin Hill, Taro Knight and Christopher Morris.
Maliyah Hooks and Erika Evans were flower girls. Donovan Chavis was ringbearer.
Susan Blakesly directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Javier Davis. Katrina Hooks and Shainetta Latta distributed the programs.
A program of wedding music was provided by Daryl Richardson, saxophonist.
Following the ceremony, a seated dinner was held at the Sheraton’s Oak Forest Ballroom.
After their wedding trip to Montego Bay, Jamaica, the couple will reside in Raleigh.
Events held before the wedding included a bridal shower June 7 at Jack’s Grill in Wilson hosted by Charmaine Y. Bond and a bachelorette weekend Sept. 4 at Embassy Suites in Raleigh hosted by Tonia Fearington.
A rehearsal dinner was held Oct. 2 at Big Easy Downtown Raleigh.
