Alston-Reid
FREMONT — Ronnesha Lynn Reid of Fremont and Rashad Ormond Alston of Fremont exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony Aug. 29 at 4 p.m. at St. James Church of Christ (Disciples of Christ), with pastor Mark A. Sutton officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Edna Reid of Fremont and Ronald Reid of Goldsboro and the granddaughter of James Lewis of Goldsboro, the late Mary Frances Lewis and the late Bobby and Roma Jean Reid.
She is a 2002 graduate of Charles B. Aycock High School and a graduate of Wayne Community College with an associate degree in arts. She is employed as an instructional assistant at Northwest Elementary School.
The groom is the son of Salessa Alston of Fremont and Gregory Jones of Goldsboro and the grandson of Fred Bowser of Wilson, the late Lula Alston Bowser and the late Josephine Jones of Fremont.
He is a 2002 graduate of Charles B. Aycock High School. He is employed as a CPS team leader at Anchor Coupling Inc.
The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.
She wore a white satin A-line halter gown with a pleated bodice and beaded metallic lace with a sweep train.
Her headpiece was a one-tiered elbow-length veil with a pencil edge and a tiara.
The bride carried a bouquet of orange Gerber daisies and white calla lilies.
Jennelle Lewis, cousin of the bride, and Cierra Reid, sister of the bride, were maids of honor.
Bridesmaids were Anika Alston, sister of the groom, and Ebony Artis, Jalisa Lewis, Erica Reid and LaDonna Reid, cousins of the bride.
Cleveland Sauls and Martel Spells were their cousin’s best men.
Groomsmen were Miguel Alston, Robert Alston and Kwabena Hobbs, cousins of the groom; Monderrio Jones, brother of the groom; and Korie Lewis, cousin of the bride.
Ushers were Brandon Sutton and Tevin Yelverton, friends of the couple.
Mariya Lewis, cousin of the bride, was flower girl. Isaiah McCullough, cousin of the groom, was the ringbearer.
Madie Hite and Ollie Reid, aunts of the bride, directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Benita Howell, cousin of the bride.
A program of wedding music was provided by Jasmine Best, keyboards, and Cierra Reid and Catherine Swinson, vocalists.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at Lane Tree Golf Club.
Events held before the wedding included a wedding shower July 25 at St. James Church hosted by Beyanka Lewis, Brenda Lewis and Sheila Lewis, aunts of the bride; a bridal shower Aug. 1 at Logan’s hosted by Jennelle Lewis and Cierra Reid; and a dinner Aug. 22 at Bahama Breeze hosted by Cleveland Sauls and Jennelle Lewis .
The groom’s mother and aunts hosted a rehearsal dinner at St. James Church.
