Sandlin - Davis
Melonie Faye Davis of Pikeville and Jeremy Ridge Sandlin exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony May 9 at 2 p.m. at Waynesborough Historical Park, with pastor Dann Patrick officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Mickey Lynn Davis of Cairo, Ga., and Linda Goff Thompson of Pikeville and the granddaughter of Evelyn Thompson Davis and the late Leo Caroll Davis of Mount Olive and the late Raymond James Goff Sr. and the late Linda Brogden Goff of Dudley.
She is a 2007 graduate of Rosewood High School and attends Wayne Community College. She is employed as a lead teacher at Faith Daycare.
The groom is the son of Jerry Lee and Debbie Merrill Sandlin of Goldsboro and the grandson of Delano and Avel Sandlin of Beulaville and J.M. and Margaret Woodard Merrill of Goldsboro.
He is a 2008 graduate of Faith Christian Academy and will attend Wayne Community College in the fall. He is employed as a loader at Pate Dawson Co.
The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.
She wore a white gown of chiffon with beading decorating the sweetheart neckline that met the draped torso with a corset tie-back onto the flared skirt.
The bride carried a bouquet of white calla lilies.
Nikki Sandlin, sister of the groom, was maid of honor.
Bridesmaids were Meredith Braswell, Heather Evans, and Shanna Miller, friends of the bride.
Jerry Sandlin was his son’s best man.
Groomsmen were Taylor Stocks, Daniel Daughtry, Austen Webber and Phillip Hardy, friends of the groom.
Lilly Miller, friend of the bride, was flower girl. Luke Miller, friend of the bride, was ringbearer.
Emalie Hudson directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Lesley Voeller. Bailey Voeller distributed programs.
Special helpers were Patsy Howard, Ann Worley, Emalie Hudson, Diana Baldwin, Roxie Davis, Darlene Marshall and David Thompson.
A program of wedding music was provided by Amber Winders and Micah Conlon, vocalists.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at Faith Free Will Baptist Church fellowship hall.
The couple resides in Dudley.
Events held before the wedding included a bridal shower hosted by ladies from the church; a bridal shower at Faith daycare hosted by mother of the groom; a bridal shower at home of the bride’s mother hosted by her mother; a lingerie shower in Pikeville hosted by Shanna Miller, friend of the bride; and a bachelor trip to Topsail hosted by Phillip Hardy, Kyle Pate and Austen Webber, friends of the groom.
Friends and family hosted a rehearsal dinner held at Faith Free Will Baptist Church.
