Holland - Marlow
PINEHURST — Mary Grace Holland and Jason Wade Marlow exchanged vows at 5:30 p.m. May 9 at The Village Chapel, with Dr. Al Hill officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Andrew Holland Jr. of Smithfield and the granddaughter of Grace Crow Holland and the late Walter Andrew Holland of Smithfield and the late Mr. and Mrs. Perry Edward Wiles of Zanesville, Ohio.
She graduated from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington with a Bachelor of Arts degree in criminal justice and East Carolina University with a master’s of social work degree. She was presented at the North Carolina Debutante Ball.
The groom is the son of Rose Shaw Marlow and James Wayne Marlow of Goldsboro and the grandson of Doris Pait Shaw, the late Wade Shaw, Thomas Roland Marlow and the late Maybelle Halstead Marlow of Goldsboro.
He graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a Bachelor of Arts degree in mathematics and North Carolina State University with a master’s in business administration degree.
The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.
Ansley Holland Stroud of Greenville was her sister’s matron of honor.
Bridesmaids were Mary Holland Rose Wilson of Cary, cousin of the bride; Lindzey Elizabeth Taylor of Atlanta, Ga., cousin of the groom; Kelly Michelle Wilkinson and Taylor Randolph Bode of Raleigh; and Kerry Anne Rogers of Edgewater, N.J.
Ronald Jackson Casey of North Bethesda, Md., was his cousin’s best man.
Groomsmen were Perry Wiles Holland of Smithfield, brother of the bride; and Thomas Eugene Gallo of Wilmington, Donald Sprunt Hill Jr. of Chapel Hill, Matthew Paul Belcher, John Burwell Parker Jr., Michael Howard Darst and Parker Thomas Cooper of Raleigh.
Ella Ann Holland of Smithfield, niece of the bride, was flower girl.
Mary Catherine Green and Kate Inman Helsel of Raleigh distributed programs.
Thomas Edgar Stroud Jr. of Greenville, brother-in-law of the bride, was Scripture reader.
A program of wedding music was provided by John W. Shannon, organist; Dr. Timothy Altman, trumpeter; and Laurie Muirhead, harpist.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the Resort Club.
After a wedding trip, the couple resides in Raleigh.
Events held before the wedding included a wedding day brunch at the Holly Inn hosted by the bride’s family; a bridal luncheon at The Carolina hosted by the bride’s family; and engagement parties in Smithfield, Raleigh, Mount Olive and Wilmington hosted by friends of the couple.
The groom’s parents held a rehearsal dinner May 8 at The Centennial Dining Room.
