Odom - Thomas
WILMINGTON, Del. — Kim Michelle Thomas and Audwin Lewis Odom of Wilmington exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony Sept. 6 at 5 p.m. at Bethel AME Church, with the Rev. Christopher Alan Bullock officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Clarence E. Thomas and Sandra Coley Thomas of Wilmington and the granddaughter of the late James and Ella Thomas of Ahoskie and the late James and Sarah Coley of Goldsboro.
She is a graduate of Brandywine High School in Deleware and North Carolina A&T State University. She is employed as a business analyst at Access Group Inc.
The groom is the son of Marlene Hoover Wilson and the late Milton Wilson of Crisfield, Md., and the grandson of the late Milton and Sarah Wilson of Crisfield and Harvey Hoover and the late Stella Hoover of Bronx, N.Y.
He is a graduate of Crisfield High School in Maryland and Springfield College in Wilmington. He is employed as a substance abuse counselor at Horizon House of Delaware.
The bride was escorted and given in marriage by her parents.
She wore a satin ivory gown. The bustier top was embroidered with crystal beading and sequins arranged as flowers. The skirt had a Basque waistline, which pleated out into a ball gown with a cathedral-length train.
Valerie C. Turner was matron of honor.
Bridesmaids were Donnell R. Seyni and Bonita M. Reeves.
Larry Whittington was best man.
Groomsmen were Doug Hamilton and Michael Wilcher.
Ushers were Lamont Snow and Ettrick Coley.
Amil Thomas Odom was ring bearer.
Coreisha Chestnutt directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Princess N. Oates.
A program of wedding music was provided by Arvis Strickling-Jones, pianist, and Ron Sutton, saxophonist.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the Elks Lodge in North Wilmington.
After a wedding trip to Montchanin, Del., the couple reside in Wilmington.
Events held before the wedding included a shower Sept. 3 hosted by co-workers of the bride and a shower Aug. 16 at the home of the matron of honor in Newark, Del., hosted by bridesmaids and friends.
A rehearsal dinner was held at the home of the bride’s mother.
