Myles-Kenon
Jessica Denise Kenon of Goldsboro and Kasheem Orlando Myles of Goldsboro exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony June 28 at 2 p.m. at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, with Pastor Linda Tunn officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Tim McCoy Dawson of Goldsboro and Gloria Jean Kenon of LaGrange and the granddaughter of Hattie Mae Dawson and the late Benjamin Dawson Sr. and the late Paul Williams of LaGrange and Nellie Mae Nobles Kenon of Dudley.
She graduated from Goldsboro High School in 2000 and Wayne Community College in 2006 with an associate degree in medical office administration. She is employed as a personal care aid and health care assistant II at United Home Care and O’Berry Center.
The groom is the son of Gladys Fae Lofton of Selma and the grandson of the late George and Beatrice Lofton of Goldsboro.
He graduated from Goldsboro High School. He is employed as a maintenance worker at Goldsboro Housing Authority.
The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.
She wore a strapless satin A-line ivory and champagne gown with a split front and gathered waist with beaded lace detail and a chapel train.
Her headpiece was a gold tiara and a short one-tiered ivory veil with a scalloped edge and beaded flowers.
The bride carried a cascading bouquet of ivory, chocolate and champagne roses accented with baby’s breath, tulle and ivy.
Shakeita Kenon and Stephanie Kenon were their sister’s maids of honor.
Bridesmaids were Jenell Kenon, aunt of the bride; Shereen Lanier, sister of the groom; Cherree Ruffin, friend of the bride; and Tiffany Kenon and Tela Kenon, cousins of the bride.
Roy Dingle Jr. was his friend’s best man.
Groomsmen were Rodney Lanier and Travis Drawhorn, brothers-in-law of the groom, and Thomas Whitehorn Jr., Jonathan Randall and William Stringer, friends of the groom.
Ushers were Dequantia Jones, cousin of the bride, and Rodney Lanier Jr., nephew of the groom.
Shakira James and Tionna James, daughters of the bride, were flower girls. Treyvonta Dawson, brother of the bride, was ringbearer.
Baronda Smallwood Rogers directed the wedding. Shatonia Kenion, niece of the groom, and Hadiyyah Lewis, cousin of the bride, distributed programs.
A program of wedding music was provided by Tony Edmondson, organist, vocalist and pianist.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at Goldsboro Boys & Girls Club.
After a wedding trip to Myrtle Beach, S.C., the couple reside in Goldsboro.
Events held before the wedding included an engagement party June 14 at the home of the couple.
