Bailey - Ennis
Dana McFatter Ennis and Wilton Thomas Bailey of Pikeville exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony April 26 at 2 p.m. at Rosewood Worship Center, with the Rev. Lynn Epps officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Wayne and Charlotte Johnson Perry and the late J.C. McFatter of Goldsboro and the granddaughter of the late Alex McFatter, Pearl Toler McFatter and Vearl Johnson Gurley of Goldsboro and the late James Clinton Johnson of Benson.
She is a 1995 graduate of Charles B. Aycock and a 1999 graduate of Wayne Community College with an Associate in Applied Science degree in medical assisting. She is employed as a certified medical assistant at Goldsboro Pediatrics.
The groom is the son of Wilton and Ruth Hall Bailey of Goldsboro, the grandson of Luvenia Bailey and the late Russell Gurley of Goldsboro and Sallie Hall and the late Wilbert Hall of Fremont and the stepgrandson of the late L.J. Gurley.
He is a 1996 graduate of Charles B. Aycock and a 1998 graduate of Wayne Community College’s Basic Law Enforcement Academy. He is employed as a police officer at Goldsboro Police Department.
The bride was escorted by her son, Drake Christopher Ennis, and stepfather, Wayne Perry, and given in marriage by her family.
She wore a white strapless A-line gown with a band of luster cobalt satin. The bodice was decorated with pearl and crystal beadwork. The back was accented with a corset-style lace-up tie and satin-covered buttons that flowed into a semi-cathedral length train embellished with a cobalt satin inset finished with matching embroidery.
Her headpiece was a white floral halo adorned with pearls and sequins that ended in a two-tiered veil of silk illusion with pencil edging.
The bride carried a cascading bouquet of white Gerber daisies, white roses and white wisteria accented by blue cornflower and blue agapanthus.
Lorienda McFatter Strickland of Pikeville was her sister’s matron of honor.
Bridesmaids were Missy Cole McFatter of Goldsboro, sister-in-law of the bride, and Diane Bailey Tyndall of Pikeville, sister of the groom.
Wilton Bailey was his son’s best man.
Groomsmen were Larry Strickland of Pikeville, brother-in-law of the bride, and Jeff Bailey of Pikeville, cousin of the groom.
Junior Best Man-Hunter Lee Bailey, son of the groom, was the junior best man.
Ariel Brooke Strickland of Pikeville and Cameron Paige McFatter of Goldsboro, nieces of the bride, were junior bridesmaids.
Savannah Nicole Strickland of Pikeville, niece of the bride, and Taylor Nicole Tyndall of Pikeville, niece of the groom, were flower girls. Cole McFatter of Goldsboro, nephew of the bride, was ringbearer.
Nola Claiborne, friend of the bride, directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Lynn Bloodsworth, friend of the bride. Brandy Broome, friend of the couple, distributed programs.
A program of wedding music was provided by Ken Finney, pianist; Lauren Claiborne Tucker and Ken Finney, vocalists; and Jonathan Russell, sound technician.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held in the church fellowship hall.
After a wedding trip to Myrtle Beach, S.C., the couple reside in Pikeville.
Events held before the wedding included a bachelorette weekend April 4 in Myrtle Beach; a miscellaneous shower March 30 at the church hosted by family; and a miscellaneous shower March 28 hosted by co-workers of the bride.
The groom’s family hosted a rehearsal dinner at Rosewood Worship Center. The couple chose this time to present gifts to their attendants.
