Howell - Craig
Amber Lorraine Craig of Goldsboro and Jimmy Wayne Howell of Fort Hood, Texas, exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony July 21 at 3 p.m. at The Salvation Army, with Major Andrew Wiley officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Brian John Craig of Sauth Haven, Mich., and the late Michelle Lawson Craig and the granddaughter of Thomas Craig of South Haven and Mr. and Mrs. George Lawson.
The groom is the son of Howard Lee Howell Sr. and Joanette Pope of Goldsboro and the grandson of Lillian Rene Howell and the late Daniel Howell of Goldsboro and the late Arthur T. and Julia J. Pope of New Bern.
He graduated from Charles B. Aycock High School in 2005. He is serving in the Army’s 62nd Engineering Combat Battalion.
The bride was escorted by James Brock and given in marriage by her father.
She wore a formal gown of white Italian satin and chiffon. Swarovski crystals embellished the strapless neckline. Draped chiffon adorned the corset bodice. The chiffon A-line skirt was accented with Swarovski crystals. It had a cathedral train.
Her headpiece was a two-tiered veil of silk illusion that had a scalloped, penciled edge.
Emily Jones was maid of honor.
Susan Strickland was the bridesmaid.
Howard Lee Howell Sr. was his son’s best man.
Groomsmen were Will Medus and Howard Lee Howell Jr.
Ushers were Will Medus and Howard Lee Howell Jr.
Anthony Gabriel Best was ringbearer.
Susan Strickland and Ellaine Bedford directed the wedding. Howard Lee Howell Jr. distributed programs.
Special helpers were Ginger Hutchison, Thomas Wilson, Joyce Wilson and Maj. Hazel Wiley
A program of recorded wedding music was provided.
Following the ceremony, the groom’s family held a reception in the church fellowship hall.
After a wedding trip, the couple reside in Killeen, Texas.
Events held before the wedding included a shower July 18 hosted by the Salvation Army Ladies Home League.
