Rosario-Rollins
Kimberly Eden Rollins and Orlando Rosario Jr. of Roanoke Rapids exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony Aug. 4 at 4 p.m. at Trinity Baptist Church, with the Rev. Rodney Barwick, uncle of the bride, officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Clay and Sharon Rollins of Seven Springs, the granddaughter of Elma Barwick of Seven Springs, the late Walter Barwick, Flora Rollins of Dudley and the late Clifton Rollins and the great-granddaughter of the late Burke and Bertha Potter.
She is a 2004 graduate of Spring Creek High School and a 2007 graduate of Wayne Community College. She attends East Carolina University for a degree in elementary education. She is a member of Kappa Delta Pi. She was previously employed at Target.
The groom is the son of Maria Quinnones of North Lauderdale, Fla., and Orlando Rosario Sr. of Bronx, N.Y. and the grandson of Franklin and Maria Herndon of Iron Station and the late Juan Rosario and Margarita Candalaro of Toabaja, Puerto Rico.
He is a 1996 graduate of Graphic Communications Arts High School in New York. He served in the Marine Corps. He is employed as a detective in the narcotics division of the Roanoke Rapids Police Department.
The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.
She wore a strapless princess-cut gown of diamond white satin. Embroidery and beading adorned the bodice, hemline and semi-cathedral train. The back was enhanced with a corset lace-up closure.
Her headpiece was a veil of silk illusion trimmed with bugle and seed beads.
The bride carried a hand-wrapped bouquet of hot pink tulips, pink ranunculus and hot and light pink hydrangeas wrapped with a white satin ribbon.
Karen Lively was her sister’s matron of honor.
Bridesmaids were Hope Holden, friend of the bride, and Laura Rosario and Carol Zuniga, sisters of the groom.
Orlando Rosario Sr. was his son’s best man.
Groomsmen were Leo Baez and Roberto Valenzuela, friends of the groom, and Chuck Lively, brother-in-law of the bride.
Elizabeth Lively, niece of the bride, was the junior bridesmaid. Orlando Rosario III, son of the groom, was the junior groomsman.
Reavyn Lively, niece of the bride, and Arianna Rosario, daughter of the groom, were flower girls.
Gail Barnes and Barbara Flynn, friends of the bride, directed the wedding. Presiding at the register and distributing programs were Allen and Michelle Johnson, cousins of the bride.
Special helpers were George Graham, Sandra Uzzell, Cheryl Wilson and Cathy Wheeler, friends of the couple, and Tynette Blanchette and Jessica Rosario, nieces of the groom.
A program of wedding music was provided by Jenny Heim, friend of the bride, violinist, and George Moore, sound technician.
Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents held a reception in the church fellowship hall. Glenn and Bessie Graham greeted guests. Carole Barwick, aunt of the bride, served the wedding cake.
After a wedding trip to Orlando, Fla., the couple reside in Roanoke Rapids.
Events held before the wedding included a miscellaneous shower June 24 hosted by Karen Lively, Wanda Cameron, Elma Barwick, Bessie Graham, Georgie Teachey and Dean Barwick; a bachelorette and lingerie party June 14 at Texas Steakhouse hosted by Karen Lively and Bessie Graham; a recipe shower June 2 hosted by Karen Lively and Elizabeth Lively; and a bachelor party hosted by Chuck Lively.
Glenn and Bessie Graham, Georgie Teachey and the groom’s family held a rehearsal dinner.
