Mansfield-Harris
Susan Rebecca Harris of Greenville and Thomas Scott Mansfield exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony July 14 at 5 p.m. at the First Pentecostal Holiness Church, with Pastor Jimmy Whitfield officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Charlie David and Sue Ann Harris of Goldsboro and the granddaughter of Evelyn Harris and the late Charlie Harris of Kinston and the late Parrott and Doris Suggs of LaGrange.
She is a 2003 graduate of Eastern Wayne High School and attends East Carolina University for a Bachelor of Science degree in elementary education and a concentration in reading. She is employed as a sales associate at Kirkland’s of Greenville.
The groom is the son of Thomas J. and Tana D. Mansfield of Grifton and the grandson of Oscar and Dixie Mansfield of Norfolk, Va., Vann Dunn, Billy Dunn and Bobbie Dunn of Kinston and Lou Tripp and Dennis Tripp of Greenville.
He is a 2002 graduate of Bethel Christian Academy and a 2006 graduate of East Carolina University with a BSBA degree in finance. He is employed as a financial services officer at the State Employee’s Credit Union of Williamston.
The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.
She wore a formal gown of white satin with a halter neckline. The bodice and A-line skirt were adorned with beaded lace appliqués and a lace-up corset back. A seafoam sash enhanced the waistline and continued down the semi-cathedral train.
Her headpiece was a tiara of rhinestones and Swarovski crystals that ended in a two-tiered veil of silk illusion trimmed with pearls and sequins.
The bride carried a clutch bouquet of white lilies, roses and hydrangeas.
Jamie Harris was her sister-in-law’s matron of honor, while Stephanie Kesling, cousin of the bride, was maid of honor.
Bridesmaids were Blaire Cooke, friend of couple; Leeanna Phillips, sister of the groom; and Victoria Presley, cousin of the bride.
Corey Mansfield, brother of the groom, and Thomas Mansfield, father of the groom, were best men.
Groomsmen were Mark Harris, brother of the bride; Nathaniel Phillips, brother-in-law of the groom; and John Hinson, friend of couple.
Sarah Phillips, niece of the groom, was flower girl. Ted Suggs, cousin of the bride, was ringbearer.
Olia Lee Sugg directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Christel Hamilton. Luke Suggs and Kelly Suggs distributed programs.
A program of wedding music was provided by Carolyn Castania, pianist, and Kathy Barker, vocalist.
Following ceremony, the bride’s parents held a reception at Walnut Creek Country Club.
After a wedding trip to the Grand Caymen Islands and Cozumel, Mexico, the couple reside in Greenville.
Events held before the wedding included a bridal shower June 23 hosted by the bride’s family; a bridal shower May 20 hosted by the groom’s family; bachelorette weekend April 28 in Wilmington hosted by Jamie Harris and Blaire Cooke; a bachelor weekend April 28 in Raleigh hosted by Corey Mansfield; and a lingerie shower April 14 hosted by Blaire Cooke and Tana Mansfield.
The groom’s parents held a rehearsal dinner July 13 at the First Pentecostal Holiness Church.
