Jernigan - Williams
MANTEO — April Lynn Williams of Dudley and Jeffrey David Jernigan of Dudley exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony March 24 at 5 p.m. at the home of Glenn and Phyllis Futrell of Pirates Cove, with Shirley Ann Gross officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Freddie Carroll Williams Jr. of Goldsboro and Deena Rose Pate of Goldsboro and the granddaughter of Fred and Barbara Williams of Dudley, William Ray and Mary B. Rose of Goldsboro, the late Sylvia B. Rose and the late Barbara C. Williams.
She is a 2002 graduate of Eastern Wayne High School.
The groom is the son of Ted Max and Karen Owen Jernigan of Goldsboro and the grandson of the late Raymond and Elma Jernigan and Robert and Emma Owen of Goldsboro.
He is a 1999 graduate of Southern Wayne High School. He is employed as an HVAC technician at Scott Heating and Air Conditioning.
The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.
She wore a formal gown of white satin and chiffon with a square neckline accented with spaghetti straps. The fitted bodice was gathered at the waist with a floral beading design and flowed into an A-line skirt. The semi-cathedral train was beaded with bugle beads and crystals.
She carried a bouquet of white, long stem calla lilies with pink wax wrapped in chiffon.
Michelle F. Jernigan was matron of honor.
Bridesmaids were Rebecca Fortner, Candace Smith, Dana Whaley, Martha Smith and Haylee Howell.
Ted M. Jernigan was best man.
Groomsmen were Kirk Jernigan, Tommy Whaley, Stefan Williams, Ashley Smith and Jeff Mozingo.
Hannah Whaley and Sarah Jernigan were flower girls. Gabriel Whaley was ringbearer.
Phyllis Futrell directed the wedding. Presiding at the register and distributing programs was Kirk Jernigan.
A program of wedding music was provided by Steve the Dream.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at Pirates Cove at the pavilion. Judy Jernigan served the wedding cake.
The couple reside in Dudley.
Events held before the wedding included a bridesmaids’ dinner March 22 at Applebees hosted by Deena Pate at which time the bride presented gifts to her attendants and a bridal shower Feb. 4 at Love Memorial Church fellowship hall hosted by Karen and Michelle Jernigan.
A rehearsal dinner was held March 23 at the Lone Cedar restaurant in Manteo.
