Smith-Howell
Amanda Susan Howell and Daniel Weaver Smith of Goldsboro exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony Jan. 27 at 6 p.m. at Free Chapel Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church, with the Rev. Andy Stovall officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Timothy Gerald and Sue Grady Howell of Goldsboro and the granddaughter of Margaret Howell and the late Bob Howell of Goldsboro and Edna Grady and the late Albert Grady of Mount Olive.
She is a graduate of the North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics and Mount Olive College with a Bachelor of Science degree in biology. She is employed at Goldsboro Milling Co.
The groom is the son of Linwood Smith of Selma and Billy and Susan Aycock Anderson of Pikeville and the grandson of Jean Smith and the late Pete Smith of Eureka and Charles and Mary Belle Aycock of Pikeville.
He graduated from Charles B. Aycock High School and Wayne Community College with an associate degree in agribusiness. He is employed at L. Harvey and Sons.
The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her family.
She wore an ivory strapless A-line wedding gown with two layers of fabric. The bottom layer was matte duchess bridal satin and the top layer incorporated English net, French cotton and Venice lace adorned with handsewn seed pearls.
Her headpiece was a single-layered ivory veil of silk illusion with scattered crystals along the edge.
The bride carried a bouquet of white calla lilies with lily of the valley.
Phyllis Parks Howell was her sister-in-law’s matron of honor.
Billy Anderson was his stepson’s best man.
Ushers were Brad West and Ashley Glover.
Dallas Jones and Dakota Jones, nieces of the groom, and Elizabeth Howell, niece of the bride, were flower girls. Tate Anderson, nephew of the groom, was ringbearer.
Mary Ann George directed the wedding. Presiding at the register were Lynn West and Reagan Glover.
Candlelighters were Mike Howell, brother of the bride, and Bill Anderson, brother of the groom.
A program of wedding music was provided by Walton Aycock, Zina Carr and Tommy Howell, vocalists.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held in the church educational building. Edith Harper and Ann Jones served the wedding cake. Pamela Hamm and Debbie Howell, aunts of the bride, assisted.
After a wedding cruise to the Bahamas, the couple reside in Goldsboro.
Events held before the wedding included a supper Jan. 16 at Texas Steakhouse hosted by co-workers of the bride; a miscellaneous shower Jan. 14 at Little River Fire Department hosted by the groom’s family; and a Pampered Chef shower Dec. 11 hosted by Dr. Becky Tilley and Sharon Jackson at Goldsboro Milling Co.
The groom’s family and friends held a pig-picking rehearsal dinner Jan. 26 at Little River Fire Department.
