Blizzard - Sumner
SEVEN SPRINGS — Elana Jo Sumner and Seth Thomas Blizzard exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony Sept. 16 at 5 p.m. at Daly’s Chapel Church, with the Rev. Todd Sutton officiating.
The bride is the daughter of John Edgar Sumner and Janice Marie Sumner of Pink Hill and the granddaughter of Lettie Elizabeth “Tiny” Sumner and the late John Ivey Sumner of Pink Hill and Annie Brown Anderson and the late Eddie James Anderson of Warsaw.
She is a 2000 graduate of East Duplin High School, a 2004 graduate of Mount Olive College with a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration with a concentration in accounting and a 2006 graduate of Campbell University with an MBA. She is employed as a staff accountant at H. Donald Pickett and Co.
The groom is the son of William Thomas and Amelia Boyette Blizzard of Mount Olive and the grandson of Seth “Snowball” Thomas, the late Marlene Taylor Blizzard and Eleanor “Tootsie” Herring of Mount Olive and Cecil Boyette Jr. of Kinston.
He graduated from East Duplin High School in 1999, Wayne Community College in 2001 with a degree in heating/air and refrigeration and James Sprunt Community College in 2001 with a degree in electrician/electronics. He is employed as a service technician at D.M. Price and Sons.
The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.
She wore a white strapless satin wedding gown with gold and silver embroidery.
The bride carried stargazer lilies and white roses.
Pamela Lynn Kennedy was maid of honor.
Bridesmaids were Mandi Hope Eason, Kelly Turnage Hill and Brandy Summerlin.
William Thomas Blizzard was his son’s best man.
Groomsmen were Seth Thomas “Snowball” Blizzard, grandfather of the groom, Todd Summerlin and Kirk Evan Kennedy.
Rhonda S. Bass directed the wedding. Presiding at the register and distributing programs was Ashley Nicole Kelly, cousin of the bride).
A program of wedding music was provided by Barabara Price, pianist, and Randy Cashwell, vocalist.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held in the church fellowship hall.
After a wedding trip to Pigeon Forge, Tenn., the couple reside in Mount Olive.
Events held before the wedding include a wedding shower July 16 at Daly’s Chapel Church fellowship hall hosted by family and friends.
