Wilson - Bizzell
MOUNT OLIVE — Selena Rose Bizzell of Wilson and Lateef J. Wilson exchanged vows June 17 at 5 p.m.
The Rev. Thomas Raynor officiated at the double-ring ceremony at Evangelical Fellowship Center.
The bride is daughter of Linda Joyce Bizzell of Dudley and Dwight Bizzell of Mount Olive. She is the granddaughter of Alice Beatrice Dove and the late James Earnest Dove Sr. of Dudley and Mildred Bizzell and the late Lepolia Bizzell of Mount Olive.
The groom is the son of Jimmy and Caral Ann Wilson of Goldsboro. He is the grandson of the late Sarah Lee and the late George Lee of Devonshire, Bermuda, and the late Mary Wilson and the late James Henry Wilson of Goldsboro.
Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore a beaded lace halter with full tulle skirt.
For her headpiece, she chose a rhinestone tiara with a cathedral-style veil. She carried a bouquet of roses.
Crystal Daniels, friend of the bride, was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Candra Reid, Letecia Smith and Renita Allen, cousins of the bride, and Kim Williams, friend of the bride.
Larry Parks was his friend’s best man. Groomsmen were Julian White, friend of the groom; Terrence Bizzell, brother of the bride; and Danya Bizzell, cousin of the bride.
Brooke Dove, cousin of the bride, was the junior bridesmaid. D’Maurice Parker, son of the bride, was the junior groomsman.
Jordan Bizzell, niece of the bride, was flower girl. Matthew Fields, cousin of the bride, was ring bearer.
Bernadette Dove, aunt of the bride, directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Tabetha Teachey-Baxter, friend of the bride. Malik Dove and Jamie Dove distributed programs.
A program of wedding music was provided by Kevin Alston, pianist, organist and vocalist, and Trina McClarin, vocalist.
After a wedding trip to Florida and the Bahamas , the couple is residing in Goldsboro.
The bride is a 1991 graduate of Southern Wayne High School. She attends Lenoir Community College for a nursing degree. She is employed with Cherry Hospital as a health care technician.
The groom graduated from Goldsboro High School in 1992. He is employed with Nova and The Edward Group as a CBS paraprofessional and habilitation technician.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at Southern Wayne County Club. Tabetha Teachey-Baxter, friend of the bride, greeted guests. Bernadette Carter-Dove was mistress of ceremonies. Juanita Johnson, aunt of the bride, served the wedding cake.
Out-of-town guests were from Bermuda, Georgia, Maryland, New York, South Carolina, Virginia and Washington D.C.
The bride’s mother held a shower June 13 at her home.
On June 11, a surprise shower was held at the home of James and Bernadette Dove, uncle and aunt of the bride
A girls’ trip to Myrtle Beach, S.C., was held May 26 and 27.
On May 31, co-workers of the bride held a surprise bridal shower.
Crystal Daniels held a shower May 20 at Herman Park Center.
The groom’s parents held a rehearsal dinner at the church. The couple chose this time to present gifts to their attendants.
