Tucker - Claiborne
FREMONT — Lauren Claire Claiborne and Richard Travis Tucker of Black Creek pledged their marriage promises April 29 at 3 p.m.
Dr. Penny Ziemer, Dr. Richard Glosson and the Rev. C.H. Overman officiated at the double-ring ceremony at Union Grove Free Will Baptist Church.
The bride is the daughter of William David Jr. and Nola Pittman Claiborne of Pikeville. She is the granddaughter of Athalene Overman Pittman, the late George L. Pittman and the late William David and Jean Speed Claiborne of Fremont.
Ricky Dean and Pamela Green Tucker of Mount Olive are parents of the groom. He is the grandson of the late James F. and Annie Bell Goodman Green of Mount Olive and Ben and Eleanor Tucker of Faison.
Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore an ivory satin strapless gown. The beaded bodice featured criss-cross bands and closed with satin-covered buttons and flowed into a chapel-length train.
For her headpiece, she chose a comb encrusted with pearls and crystals attached to a single-layered fingertip veil with a corded trim.
Morgan Claiborne Wilson, sister of the bride, was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Sheree Sasser Millard and Stacie Sasser Fail, friends of the bride.
Dean Tucker was his son’s best man. Groomsmen were Jerred Tucker, brother of the groom, and Michael Forsyth, friend of the groom.
Emma Jean Wilson, niece of the bride, was flower girl.
Elizabeth Thomas Lee, cousin of the bride, directed the wedding. Presiding at the register and distributing programs was Emily Pittman, cousin of the bride.
A program of wedding music was provided by Jimmy Aycock, pianist; Melinda Caughron and Dan Gurley, friends of the couple, Randy and Gail Pittman, uncle and aunt of the bride, and the bride, vocalists; and Ken Caughron, sound technician.
After a wedding trip to New Bern and Ocracoke Island, the couple is residing in Black Creek.
The bride is a 1997 graduate of Charles B. Aycock High School. She attends Mount Olive College studying for a bachelor of science degrees in business management and human resource management. She is employed as student services coordinator with Mount Olive College at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base.
The groom graduated from North Duplin High School in 1995 and Mount Olive College in 2000 with a bachelor of science degree in biology. He is employed as a real estate broker and lead chemist with Craft Technologies of Wilson.
Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents held a reception and dance at Goldsboro Elks Lodge.
On April 28, the groom’s parents held a rehearsal dinner at Union Grove Church fellowship hall.
Donna Marlowe Ivey, cousin of the bride, held a bridesmaids’ brunch April 22 at her home.
On April 13, co-workers of the bride held a bridal shower.
Rooty Branch Church held a miscellaneous shower April 9.
On April 2, Union Grove Church held a miscellaneous shower.
Sheree Millard, Stacie Fail and Morgan Wilson held a lingerie shower March 25 at the Millard home.
