Talton - Albertson
SMITHFIELD — Paralee Naomi Albertson and John Anthony Talton of Princeton pledged their promises April 29 at 3 p.m.
The Rev. Dennis Pollock officiated at the double-ring ceremony at Tee’s Chapel Free Will Baptist Church.
Robert Harold Sr. and Donna Andrews Albertson of Grantham are parents of the bride. She is the granddaughter of Dan and Ruth Andrews of Grantham and Harold and Evelyn Albertson of Charleston, S.C.
The groom is the son of Peggy Pittman Reeves of Smithfield and John Rooster Talton and Lib Talton of Princeton. He is the grandson of Ora Pittman and the late G.H. Hub Pittman of Kenly and Christie Talton and the late Wade Talton of Princeton.
Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore a white satin halter gown with a wrap waist. It was adorned with lace appliqués with silver embroidery, sequins, bugle beads and seed pearls. The back bodice was accented with satin-covered buttons that flowed into a semi-cathedral train.
For her headpiece, she chose a single-tiered veil of silk illusion adorned with scattered rhinestones and a penciled edge. She carried a nosegay of pink and lavender roses.
Kelly Dixon, sister of the bride, and Brandy Jones, family friend, were matrons of honor. Bridesmaids were Pat Garner, sister of the groom, and Lori Weaver and Rebecca Sasser, friends of the bride.
John Rooster Talton was his son’s best man. Groomsmen were Michael and James Albertson, brothers of the bride; Ray Garner, brother-in-law of the groom; David Dixon, brother-in-law of the bride; and Bryan Jones, family friend.
Jessica and Jaclyn Newell, cousins of the groom, were flower girls. Remington Garner, nephew of the groom, was ring bearer.
Christie Talton and Darlene Stroud directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was David Hines, cousin of the groom. Megan Pollock and Crystal Grant distributed programs.
Special helpers were Brenda Thompson, Gloria Henderson, Abigail Pollock, Judy Griebenow, Pauline Ingram, Shelly Loftin, Joyce Worley and Frances McLamb.
A program of wedding music was provided by Mark Peele, pianist, and Tiffany Albertson, sister-in-law of the bride, vocalist.
After a wedding trip to Pigeon Forge, Tenn., the couple will reside in Princeton.
The bride is a 1996 graduate of Southern Wayne High School and a 1998 graduate of Wayne Community College’s basic law enforcement training program. She is employed as a deputy sheriff with the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office.
The groom graduated from Princeton High School in 1989 and the Navy School of Electronics in 1991. He is employed as a telecommunicator shift supervisor with the Wayne County Office of Emergency Services.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the church.
On April 28, the groom’s parents held a rehearsal dinner at Tee’s Chapel Church.
Friends of the bride held a bachelorette weekend April 15 in Myrtle Beach, S.C.
On April 5, Oakland ladies auxiliary held a bridal shower.
Donna Albertson, Ruth Andrews and Brenda Thompson held a bridal shower March 24.
On March 18, the groom’s family held a bridal shower.
Brandy Jones and Rebecca Sasser held a lingerie shower Feb. 25.
On Dec. 28, Tiffany Albertson and Kelly Dixon held a Christmas shower.
