FARMVILLE — Jameta Michelle Brown became the bride of Minister Mardrecius Dauwsuell Edwards July 9 at 2 p.m.

Elder Scottie L. Rodgers and Elder Christopher Brown Jr. officiated at the double-ring-ceremony at Mt. Moriah United Holy Church.

The bride is the daughter of Gertie Mae Brown of Goldsboro and the late Elder Christopher C. Brown. She is the granddaughter of the late Ella Mae Jackson, the late Campfield Bynum, the late Rosa Bell Brown and the late Bishop J.D. Brown.

The groom is the son of LaVerne Edwards of Ayden and Andy Sasser of York, Pa. He is the stepson of Jocelyn Sasser and the grandson of Dorothy Mae Edwards of Ayden and the late Ada Sasser.

Given in marriage by her mother and escorted by Robert Bizzell and Elder Thurman McCuller, the bride wore a formal white natural-waist ballgown of matte satin. It featured off-the-shoulder cap sleeves, cutout lace and a V-back. The cathedral length train was detailed with clusters of white pearls.

For her headpiece, she chose a white one-tiered elbow-length veil trimmed in a single-layer of white pearls accented by a silver tiara adorned with white pearls. She carried a hand-tied bouquet of lavender and white roses, with baby’s breath and cascading ribbons.

Kimberly Brown Isler, sister of the bride, was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Chrishena A. Branch, Delisha R. Broadhurst, Erika Wilson-Stevens, Sabrina Bizzell, LaShanda Lewis Williams and Diwanda Hutchins.

Antonio Edwards was best man. Ushers were Kenneth Sebastian Brown and Lamartice Edwards. Groomsmen were Ajuel Baker, Dennis Brathwaite, Ricky Adams, Christopher Brown III, Minister Jermaine Columbus and Elder Otis Isler.

B’Renda Hutchins was the junior bridesmaid.

Tatayanna Dail was flower girl. Khalil Edwards was ring bearer.

Bible bearer was Jy-quez Edwards.

Eunice Evans directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Thomasina Danielle Jones. La Tasha Dail and LaQuwanza Dail distributed programs.

A program of wedding music was provided by Elliot Williams Jr., pianist, and Pamela Dunn, vocalist.

The bride is a 2003 graduate of East Carolina University with a bachelor of science degree in elementary education. She is employed as a fourth grade teacher at Belvoir Elementary with the Pitt County Public School District.

The groom graduated from Ayden-Grifton High School in 2000. He attends Pitt Community College. He is employed as a collection agent for an online company in Greenville.

Following the ceremony, a southern-style reception was held at the Greene County Senior Center of Snow Hill.

The groom’s family held a rehearsal dinner July 8 at the Mt. Moriah Church fellowship hall.

On June 18, the matron of honor held a bridal shower at her home.

North Drive Elementary staff held a miscellaneous bridal shower in May.
