Burnett - Nichols
Colleen Tye Nichols of Wendell and Byron John Burnett of Wendell said their promises July 23 at 5 p.m.
Dr. Homer Morris officiated at the double-ring ceremony at St. Paul United Methodist Church.
Brenda Sue Nichols of Goldsboro and Eugene John Nichols Sr. of Lincoln, Del., are parents of the bride. She is the granddaughter of the late Curly and Gaynelle Britt of Lumberton, the late Kathleen Nichols of Canton and the late James Nichols of Sauquoit, N.Y.
Mary Francis Cone and John Burnett of Marion are parents of the groom. He is the stepson of John Rolf Cone and the grandson of Clark and LaRue McKinney and J.C. and Thurley Burnett of Marion.
Given in marriage and escorted by her father, the bride wore a strapless embroidered A-line gown with a split front skirt.
Stephanie Nichols was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Erin Mitchell, Mary Nichols, Haley Cobb and Charity Petersen.
Bradley Burnett was best man. Ushers were Robert Cobb and Quinn Nichols. Groomsmen were Eugene Nichols Jr., Justin Winn, Tim Radfield and Tom Krychewski.
Judy Gourley directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Eileen Wheeldon.
A program of wedding music was provided by Mark Gourley, organist.
After a wedding trip to Charleston, S.C., the couple will reside in Wendell.
The bride is a graduate of East Carolina University. She is employed as a teacher at Bailey Elementary School.
The groom graduated from East Carolina University. He is employed as a merchandise manager with Sam’s Club.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at Lane Tree Golf Club.
On July 22, a rehearsal dinner was held at Billy’s Backstreet.
The groom’s mother held a shower June 26 in Marion.
On May 28, the bride’s mother and sister-in-law held a shower at the home of the bride’s mother.
