Caldwell - Lewis
WILMINGTON — Lindsay Carole Lewis and Stephan Alan Caldwell were united in holy matrimony July 9 at 5 p.m.
The Rev. Michael Ashcraft officiated at the double-ring ceremony at First Baptist Church.
Parents of the bride are Marshalle Elliott and Judy Lindsay Lewis of Princeton. She is the granddaughter of the late Egbert Newton and Mary Marshburn Lindsay of Newton Grove and the late Sadie Elliott Lewis of Wilson.
Elizabeth Gray Caldwell and Dr. E. Julian Caldwell of Granville, Ohio, are parents of the groom. He is the grandson of Helen McLaughlin Gray and the late Judge Gordon B. Gray of Athens, Ohio, and Jewell McKean Caldwell and the late Elmer E. Caldwell of Leaper, Ohio.
Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore an ivory strapless A-line gown with a band at the neckline and waistline embellished with pearls and beads. The back had a split chapel train with an inset of organza with beading and pearls.
For her headpiece, she chose a layered fingertip veil embellished with pearls in a floral design.
Sarah Elliott Lewis of Wilmington, sister of the bride, was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Shelli Wible Bejarano and Carolyn Dawn Harrington of Wilmington, Jennifer Rae Draughon of Goldsboro and Lauren Judith Emeigh of Washington D.C.
Dr. E. Julian Caldwell, father of the groom, and Michael Gray Caldwell of Bend, Ore., brother of the groom, were best men. Ushers were Ronald Ernest Dunlap of Panama City, Fla., Michael Paul Marshoobian of Chicago, Ill., and Timothy Lloyd Pruitt of Atlanta, Ga. Groomsmen were Andrew Scott Brown of Wilmington, Jon-Michael Carrick and Adam Sugar Kessler of Granville and Kevin David Shupping of Winston-Salem.
Honorary bridesmaids were Kymberli Tiesha Bowden of Greensboro; Elizabeth Diane Lewis of Raleigh, cousin of the bride; Erin Cristen Matthews and Megan Elizabeth Matthews of Gallipolis, Ohio, cousin of the groom; Christine Nichol McNeil and Alisha Michaela Murrey of Wilmington; and Jerri-Rae Pearson and Melissa Dawn Smith of Goldsboro.
Abigail Marie Barone of Kentucky was flower girl. Alexander Scott Lindsay of Raleigh, cousin of the groom, was ring bearer.
Kim McKeithan Golder directed the wedding. Presiding at the register were John and Dr. Kaya Caldwell of Alpharetta, Ga., cousins of the groom.
John Lamarr Reece of Winston-Salem, was bell ringer. The Rev. and Mrs. Randall Reece of High Points, cousins of the bride, were Scripture readers.
A program of wedding music was provided by Joan Cope Readling of Hickory, aunt of the bride, pianist; Faye Callahan Reece of Pfafftown, organist; Calvin Leo Ballington of Lawrenceville, Ga., John Lamarr Reece of Pfafftown, the Rev. and Mrs. Randall Reece of High Point, cousins of the bride, and Dr. Ernest Wayne Tompkins of Winston-Salem, vocalists; and Harry McLamb of Wilmington, trumpeter.
After a wedding trip to Italy, Prague, Vienna and Paris, the couple will reside in Atlanta.
The bride is a 1999 graduate of Rosewood High School, a 2003 graduate of the University of North Carolina at Wilmington with a degree in psychology and a 2005 magna cum laude graduate of the University of Georgia with a master’s degree in social work and a certification in marriage and family counseling. She is employed as a licensed social worker with Jewish Family and Career Services of Atlanta.
The groom graduated from Granville High School in 1998, the Hill School of Pennsylvania in 1999 and the University of North Carolina at Wilmington in 2003 with a bachelor of science degree in marketing. He attends the Creative Circus of Atlanta for an art direction portfolio.
Following the ceremony, the couple’s parents held a dinner and dance reception at Cape Fear Country Club of Wilmington.
Emerson Glenn Linsday of Raleigh, uncle of the bride, and Joan Cope Readling of Hickory, aunt of the bride, greeted guests.
On July 10, the groom’s father held a brunch at Holiday Inn Sunspree of Wrightsville Beach.
The groom’s father held a dinner July 8 at Holiday Inn Express of Wilmington.
On July 8, Sandra Porter, Wendy Maguire and Mary Lyall held a bridesmaids’ luncheon at Riverboat Landing of Wilmington.
Jennifer Draughon and Melissa Smith held a lingerie shower June 25 at the Draughon home in Goldsboro.
Sarah Elliott Lewis, sister of the bride, held a bachelorette weekend June 11 in Charleston, S.C.
On June 5, Mr. and Mrs. Steve Keen held a pig picking/yard and garden shower at their home in Rosewood.
Brook Snoody held a round-the-clock bridal shower May 9 in Athens, Ga.
