Pendergraft-Brown
CRAMERTON — Jessica Kylene Brown became the bride of Michael Aaron Pendergraft June 10 at 6 p.m.
Dr. Danny Dwyer and Dr. Dann Patrick officiated at the double-ring ceremony at Cramerton Free Will Baptist Church.
The bride is the daughter of Kyle and Karen Brown of Gastonia. She is the granddaughter of the late Rev. and Mrs. Charles Brown and the Rev. and Mrs. Talmadge Brown of Erwin, Tenn.
The groom is the son of Mike and Tracy Pendergraft and Terry and Tammy Cannon of Goldsboro. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Bobby Floars, the late Mr. and Mrs. Mickey Godwin, Wade Page and the late Evaleen Page of Goldsboro and Colleen Cannon and the late Bill Cannon of Valdese.
Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore a gown accented with Swavorski crystals and seed pearls that extended from the bodice to the bottom. It had a chapel-length train.
For her headpiece, she chose a pencil-edged two-tiered elbow-length veil with Swavorski crystals and seed pearls. She carried a clutch bouquet of red roses and baby’s breath.
Heather Brackeen of Durham, friend of the bride, was matron of honor. Melinda Brown of Cramerton, sister of the bride, was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Melissa Marcum and Sarah Marcum of Goldsboro, cousins of the bide; Laura House of Greenville and Alexis Dial of Cary, college friends of the bride; and Blaire Floars of Goldsboro, cousin of the groom.
Mike Pendergraft was his son’s best man. Groomsmen were Austin Pendergraft of Goldsboro, brother of the groom; Bobby Floars Jr. of Goldsboro, cousin of the groom; Joshua Raper of Melbourne, Fla., and Justin Smith of Cary, friends of the groom; and David Osborne and Jonathan Osborne of Independence, Va., college roommates.
Bradley Floars, cousin of the groom, and Terry Cannon, stepfather of the groom, were honorary groomsmen.
Blake Floars of Goldsboro, cousin of the groom, was the miniature groom.
Jessica Hopkins of Dover, Del., was flower girl. Garrett Pendergraft of Goldsboro, brother of the groom, was ring bearer.
Pat Hamrick of Cramerton directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Sarelle Joyner of Greenville, friend of the couple. David Osborne of Independence and Justin Smith of Cary distributed programs.
A program of wedding music was provided by Terri Siebert of Raleigh, college professor of the groom, pianist; Kevin Denton of Goldsboro, Justin Smith of Cary and Erin Stokes of Cramerton, vocalists; and Russell Wade of Goldsboro, sound technician.
After a wedding trip to Nassau, Bahamas, and Pinehurst, the couple is residing in Florence, S.C.
The bride is a 2000 graduate of Cramerton Christian Academy and a 2005 graduate of Southeastern Free Will Baptist College of Wendell with degrees in business and elementary education. She will be employed as a sixth grade teacher and girls’ sports coach at Maranatha Christian Academy of Florence.
The groom graduated with honors from Faith Christian Academy in 2001 and summa cum laude from Southeastern Free Will Baptist College in 2005 with a degree in music education. He is employed as minister of music at First Free Will Baptist Church of Florence and will also be employed as a music teacher at Maranatha Christian Academy.
Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents held a reception at the church. Pat Hamrick and Ruth Helms of Cramerton were coordinators. Tammy Floars of Goldsboro, aunt of the groom, served the wedding cake.
On June 10, Tracy Pendergraft, stepmother of the groom, and Cindy Godwin, aunt of the groom, held a bridal brunch at Chantilly’s Tea Room and Restaurant of Gastonia.
The groom’s father and stepmother held a rehearsal dinner June 9 at Big Man’s Barbecue of Gastonia.
On June 5, the groom’s mother and stepfather held a going away party at the Steak Barn.
Ladies of Cramerton Free Will Baptist Church held a bridal shower May 22 at the church.
On May 2, ladies of Faith Free Will Baptist Church held a bridal shower at the home of Darryl and Tammy Floars, uncle and aunt of the groom.
Heather Brackeen held a lingerie shower April 16 at her home in Durham.
