SNOW HILL — Jennifer Ellen Moye and Alan Dean Moore of Pikeville exchanged promises April 23 at 3:30 p.m.
The Rev. Leon Grubbs officiated at the double-ring ceremony at O’Brien’s Pond.
Parents of the bride are William D. Jr. and Susan Moye of LaGrange. She is the granddaughter of the late Thelma Howell and the late Lynn Howell of Dover and the late Ellen H. Moye and the late William D. Moye Sr. of LaGrange.
The groom is the son of Howard R. and Frances Moore of Black Creek. He is the grandson of the late Irene Howell and the late Talmadge Howell of Pikevillle and the late Elizabeth Moore and the late Jake Moore of Black Creek.
Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father and brother, William D., the bride wore a formal gown of matte satin and Alencon lace. The fitted bodice and sheer cap sleeves were embellished with pearls and sequins. Beaded lace etched in satin piping encircled the waist. The floor-length A-line skirt and chapel-length train were adorned with garlands of beaded lace bordered in scalloped, beaded Alencon lace.
For her headpiece, she chose a cathedral-length veil of illusion adorned with seed pearls and crystals. She carried a bouquet of calla lilies, purple statice and gypsum wrapped with ivory satin ribbon.
Doris B. Bennett of Snow Hill, friend of the bride, was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Mary Ammerman of Arden, Loretta Barrow of Snow Hill, Mary Jo Davis of Round Rock, Texas, and Nicole Swanson of Ft. Knox, Ky., friends of the bride.
Howard R. Moore was his son’s best man. Groomsmen were Craig Moore of Princeton and Kevin Moore of Black Creek, brothers of the groom; Will Batchelor of Blounts Creek and Wayne Howard of Cary, friends of the groom; and Jack Moye of LaGrange, brother of the bride.
Jennifer Bennett of Snow Hill, goddaughter of the bride, was the junior bridesmaid. Caleb Moore of Black Creek, nephew of the groom, was the junior groomsman.
Jessica Bennett of Snow Hill, goddaughter of the bride, was flower girl.
Sue Barrow and Sheila Kennedy directed the wedding. Presiding at the register were Beth Holland and Megan Hoffman. Emily Holland, Josh Holland and Jordan Kennedy distributed programs.
Worth Heath and Carolyn Griffin were readers.
A program of wedding music was provided by George Mewborn and Rebecca Miller, pianists, and Emily Baldree, Loretta Barrow, Patrick Miller and Jack Moye, vocalists.
After a wedding trip to Maui, Hawaii, the couple is residing in Pikeville.
The bride is a 1989 graduate of Greene Central High School and a 1993 graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She is employed as an environmental health specialist with Lenoir County Health Department.
The groom graduated from E.T. Beddingfield High School in 1994 and North Carolina State University in 1998. He is employed as an environmental health specialist with Wayne County Health Department.
Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents held a reception.
On April 22, the groom’s parents held a rehearsal dinner at Hull Road Original Free Will Baptist Church’s family life center of Snow Hill.
Mr. and Mrs. Tony Barrow and Mr. and Mrs. Bobby Kennedy held a luau.
Mr. and Mrs. Jackson Jones and Mr. and Mrs. Ben Harper held a dinner March 19 at the Best Bed and Breakfast home of Mr. and Mrs. C.O. Kearney Jr. of Snow Hill.
On Feb. 27, family and friends held a miscellaneous shower at Hull Road Church of Arba.
