Sutton - Southerland
Celena George Southerland of Goldsboro and Alonza DeLeak Sutton of Goldsboro exchanged promises Oct. 28 at 6 p.m.
Elder Thomas Raynor officiated at the double-ring ceremony at Quality Inn and Suites.
The bride is the daughter of Nathaniel Jr. and Evon George of Dudley. She is the granddaughter of Charlie and Helen Bell of Faison, Lula Mae George of Goldsboro and the late Nathaniel George Sr.
Parents of the groom are Charlie and Gloria Mitchell of Dudley and Roland and Terri Lathan of Goldsboro. He is the grandson of Doreatha Sutton of Goldsboro, Lynwood and Beverly Sutton of Dudley and Charlie Sr. and Lillie Mitchell.
The bride was given in marriage by her parents and escorted by Tony Swinson.
Temeaka Bannerman was matron of honor. Lillian V. Satchell was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Toria Sutton, Jackie Whitfield, Sebrina George and Myeshia Cox.
Tony Swinson was best man. Groomsmen were Robert Bright, David Quinn, Michael Cox and James Roach.
Imani George was flower girl. Ethan Barker was ring bearer.
Frances Hill directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Deonte George. Marcus Southerland distributed programs.
Hostesses were Kamiesha Southerland, Tiffany Hill, Lauren Blackmore and Amanda Hill.
A program of wedding music was provided by Curtis Mitchell, organist, and Veronica G. Thompson, vocalist.
After a wedding cruise to Grand Cayman Islands and Ocho Rios, Jamaica, the couple is residing in Dudley.
The bride is a 1991 graduate of Southern Wayne High School and a 1993 graduate of Wayne Community College. She is employed as a health unit coordinator at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
The groom graduated from Eastern Wayne High School in 1991 and CR England Truck Driving School in 2003. He is employed as a professional truck driver for Anderson Trucking Service.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held.
On Oct. 14, Veronica G. Thompson held a dinner.
Barbara Sutton and Doreatha Sutton held a bridal shower Sept. 25 at Greenleaf Village.
On Sept. 4, Temeaka Bannerman held a dinner at Mayflower Seafood of Raleigh.
Lillian Satchell held a lunch Aug. 29 at Ryan’s Steakhouse.
