Furer - D'Elia
MOREHEAD CITY — Rita Lauren D’Elia of Morehead City and Yuriy Sergey Furer were wed Sept. 18 at 1 p.m.
Terrell Glenn officiated at the double-ring ceremony at Glad Tidings Church.
Parents of the bride are Tonia Bryan Glasgow of Morehead City and Paul Charles D’Elia III of Richmond, Va. She is the stepdaughter of William Dennis Glasgow of Morehead City. She is the granddaughter of Elisha Lewis Bryan and Tonia Rowe Bryan of Beaufort.
Parents of the groom are Sergey and Yelena Furer of Chapel Hill. He is the grandson of Rafail Furer and Valentina Furer of Chapel Hill.
Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore an off-white satin dress with sequined spaghetti straps and sequined roses. It had a four-foot train.
For her headpiece, she chose a veil of Brussels lace worn by her late grandmother, Marjorie Lewis Bryan.
Nancy Elizabeth D’Elia was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Debra Crosby, Samantha Shoeden, Becky Bryan and Shelly Wilson.
Ian Jewell was best man. Groomsmen were Stan Furer, Jay Carmine, Paul Emmet D’Elia IV and Mike Zmuda.
Matthew Bryan was ring bearer.
Kim Bennett directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Thomas Switzer. Justin Bryan distributed programs.
A program of wedding music was provided by Ted Willis, pianist, and Nancy Elizabeth D’Elia and Jamie Viera, vocalists.
After a wedding trip to Turks and Cacos Islands, Bahamas, the couple is residing in Washington D.C.
The bride is a 2003 graduate of North Carolina State University with a double major in math and math education. She is employed as a statistician with the Federal Bureau of Census.
The groom graduated from North Carolina State University in 2004 with a degree in computer engineering and a minor in economics. He is employed as an IT consultant with Kensington Resources.
Following the ceremony, an outdoor reception was held at the home of the Lewis and Tonia Bryan of Beaufort, grandparents of the bride.
A shower was held at Dune’s Club of Atlantic Beach.
A shower was held at the home of Amy Berckman of Morehead City.
A rehearsal dinner was held at Finz Restaurant of Morehead City.
