KENANSVILLE — Holly Lucille Bowden and Niels Kasch of Goldsboro pledged their promises July 31 at 7 p.m.

The Rev. Scott Sauls officiated at the double-ring ceremony at Murray House Inn.

Parents of the bride are Mr. and Mrs. John R. Bowden of Goldsboro. She is the granddaughter of Shellie Hudson of Greenville and the late Dr. Beals Bowden and the late Bennie and Lillian Darden of Faison.

Mr. and Mrs. Klaus Kasch of Jena, Germany, are parents of the groom. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Helmut Kahnt, the late Mr. and Mrs. Hellmut Kasch and the late Leopold Schumann of Germany.

Given in marriage and escorted by her father, the bride wore a strapless form-fitted white gown adorned with cascading embroidery flowers accented with a hem and train of scalloped embroidery.

For her headpiece, she chose a silver tiara adorned with crystals and a single elbow-tiered-length veil. She carried a bouquet of miniature white calla lilies, stephanotis and greenery.

Brenda Bowden of Goldsboro, sister of the bride, was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Nicole Summerlin of Goldsboro, friend of the couple, and Doris Bowden of Durham, sister of the bride.

Norbert Kasch of Jena was his brother’s best man. Ushers were Andre Kehn of Wilmington and Jaune Schutte of Raleigh, friends of the couple.

Rosemary Pruneau of Wilmington and Abby Patten of Winston-Salem, cousins of the bride, were flower girls. William Pruneau of Wilmington and Alex Patten of Winston-Salem, cousins of the bride, were ring bearers.

Brittany Bennett of Goldsboro, goddaughter of the couple, was the miniature bride. Skyler Summerlin of Goldsboro, friend of the couple, was the miniature groom.

Joyce Grice of Goldsboro directed the ceremony. Presiding at the register were Courtney Eaves of Clayton and Kristin Edwards of Clinton, cousins of the bride.

Tina Kasch of Jena, sister of the groom, was the translator.

A program of wedding music was provided by Meredith Karcher and Jaime Wiggins of LaGrange, friends of the couple, vocalists, and Chris Ellis of Greenville, violinist.

After a wedding trip to Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., the couple is residing in Goldsboro.

The bride is a 2000 graduate of Wayne Country Day School. She attends Wayne Community College’s dental hygiene program.

The groom graduated from Wayne Country Day School in 2000 as a German exchange student and mange cum laude from Mount Olive College in 2003 with a bachelor of science degrees in computer information systems and business. He is employed as a computer information systems technician with Mount Olive College.

Following the ceremony, a reception and dance were held in the garden. A cupcake cake with fresh flowers on each cupcake was served. Linda Casey of New York City, N.Y., aunt of the bride, assisted. Janice Edwards of Newton Grove, aunt of the bride, helped.

On July 31, Luicelle Baugham of Faison, Jeff and Sarah Patten of Winston-Salem and Chris and Janet Pruneau of Wilmington held a wedding luncheon.

A bachelor party was held July 29 in Raleigh.

On July 29, the bridesmaids held a bridesmaids’ supper at the home of Nicole Summerlin.

The bride’s family held a floating miscellaneous shower July 18 in Clinton.

On June 19, Joyce Grice and Nicole Summerlin held a lingerie shower.

Members of the dental hygiene program held a miscellaneous shower June 16.

On June 12, Star Baker and Janie McFatter held a floating shower.

A bachelorette weekend was held June 5 through 7 in Myrtle Beach.

A pig picking rehearsal dinner was held at the home of the bride’s parents.
