Lund - Beard
MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. — Amber Elaine Beard and Joseph P. Lund of Goldsboro pledged their vows Saturday, July 17 at 4 p.m.
The Rev. Gainger officiated at the double-ring ceremony under a gazebo at the cascading waterfall at Wedding Chapel by the Sea.
Parents of the bride are Mr. and Mrs. Bobby D. Smith and Mr. and Mrs. Ossie V. Beard of Goldsboro. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Kittrell and Mr. and Mrs. Elwood Smith of Goldsboro and Charles H. Ely of Virginia.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Lund of New Jersey and the late Marjorie Lund. He is the grandson of Claire Lund of New York and Wilson Laforest of New Jersey.
Given in marriage by her family and escorted by her father and stepfather, the bride wore a formal gown of white satin with a square neckline accented with spaghetti straps. The fitted bodice was embellished with a flower embroidery accented with silver threading and bugle beads. The empire waist flowed into an A-line skirt. The back bodice was enhanced with a sweep train embroidered.
For her headpiece, she chose a pearl and sequin comb with a single layer tulle veil adorned with pearls. She carried a cascading bouquet of pink and white dewdrop roses accented with cascading pink and white satin ribbon and baby’s breath.
Amy Lund, sister-in-law of the groom, was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Vangie Vandiford of Snow Hill and Haley Ely of Myrtle Beach, cousins of the bride.
Steve Lund was his brother’s best man. Ushers were Brodie Smith, brother of the bride, and Jason Elliott, friend of the groom.
Presiding at the register was Rose Marie Hussey of Myrtle Beach, friend of the bride’s family.
A program of wedding music was provided by Jeff Benton of Myrtle Beach.
After a wedding trip to Charleston, S.C, and Myrtle Beach, the couple will reside in Goldsboro.
The bride is a 2000 honor graduate of Eastern Wayne High School and a 2004 graduate of Wayne Community College with an associate degree in registered nursing. She is employed as a registered nurse with Johnston Memorial Hospital’s oncology/geriatrics unit.
The groom graduated with honors from Rosewood High School in 1996. He attended Wayne Community College. He is employed as department manager with Winn-Dixie.
Following the ceremony, a waterfront dinner and dance reception was held at the home of Tony Ely of Myrtle Beach, uncle of the bride.
On July 8, the fourth floor staff of Johnston Memorial Hospital held a shower.
The bride’s family and friends held a miscellaneous/household shower June 24 at the home of Donna Rees, aunt of the bride.
