Carroll - Fields
Rachel Janine Fields and Justin Joseph Carroll were united in marriage Saturday, July 10 at 1:30 p.m.
The Rev. Gene Thompson officiated at the double-ring ceremony at Pleasant Hill Free Will Baptist Church.
The bride is the daughter of Billy and Rhonda Fields of Pikeville. She is the granddaughter of Dollie Flowers, the late Jack Flowers and the late Hughie and Blanch Fields.
Tammy Crocker and Fred Mansfield of Haw River and Michael Carroll of Colorado are parents of the groom. He is the grandson of Byron and Kathy Crocker, Edward Carroll, the late Marilyn Carroll and the late Stanley and Audrey Smales.
Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore a white satin gown with a sweetheart neckline and off-the-shoulder sleeves. The fitted bodice was embellished with lace, pearls and sequins. The A-line skirt flowed into a chapel-length train accented down the back with satin rose appliqués with scalloped lace at the hem.
For her headpiece, she chose a tiara of pearls and rhinestones with an elbow-length two-tiered veil accented with pearls and rhinestones that ended with a scalloped edge. She carried a bouquet of white silk roses.
Mandy Taylor, sister of the bride, was matron of honor. Heather Fields, sister of the bride, was maid of honor.
Eric Littleton was his friend’s best man. Jason Carroll, brother of the groom, was the groomsman. Ushers were Mark Flowers, cousin of the bride, and Michael Hill, friend of the couple.
Honorary bridesmaids were Stephanie Flowers, cousin of the bride, and Ashley Perry and Jessica Pigford, friends of the bride.
Sandy Thick directed the ceremony. Presiding at the register was Barbara Carroll, sister-in-law of the groom. Audra Lee, sister of the groom, distributed programs.
A program of wedding music was provided by Krista Thompson, pianist, and Matthew and Anne Bartlett, vocalists.
After a wedding trip to Orlando and Disney World, Fla., the couple is residing in Goldsboro.
The bride is a 2002 graduate of Charles B. Aycock High School. She attends Barton College for a degree in elementary education.
The groom graduated from Charles B. Aycock High School in 2000. He is serving in the Army as a recruiter at the Goldsboro station.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the church fellowship hall. Dail Tyndall, cousin of the bride, served the wedding cake. Peggy Ferrell, cousin of the bride, poured punch. Heather Fields, sister of the bride, and Jordan Bisbee, cousin of the bride, distributed favors and scrolls.
On July 9, the groom’s mother held a rehearsal dinner at the Steak Barn.
Women of White Oak Presbyterian Church held a miscellaneous shower June 19 in the church fellowship hall.
On June 13, the bride’s family held a miscellaneous shower at the home of Teresa Flowers, aunt of the bride.
A bridesmaids’ luncheon was held June 5 at Chile’s Restaurant.
