O'Callaghan - Radford
Jamie Lynn Radford and Benjamin Lee O’Callaghan exchanged marriage vows Saturday, June 19 at 7:30 p.m.
The Rev. Chrystal McCullen officiated at the double-ring ceremony at Snow Hill Church of God.
Parents of the bride are Johnny and Terry Radford of Pikeville. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. John William Gurley of Pikeville and the late Mr. and Mrs. James B. Radford of Princeton.
Parents of the groom are Val and Laura O’Callaghan III of Michigan. He is the grandson of Shelia Campbell of Michigan, the late Robert Campbell and Mr. and Mrs. Val O’Callaghan Jr. of Massachusetts.
Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore a formal gown of white bridal satin and re-embroidered Alencon lace with a fitted Basque bodice trimmed with re-embroidered Alencon lace, pearls and sequins. The A-line skirt featured gathers on each side front and tipping of lace at the center and flowed into a cathedral train. The skirt and train had Alencon lace, pearl and sequin cutouts highlighted with a butterfly bow at the back waist and satin bows scattered on the train. Scalloped re-embroidered lace, pearls and sequins bordered the hemline and train.
For her headpiece, she chose a silver tiara accented with pearls and rhinestones with a two-layered veil of white netting. She carried a bouquet of white roses and Italian ruscus.
Mandy Smith of Pikeville, cousin of the bride, was matron of honor.
Val O’Callaghan III was his son’s best man. Ushers were John Radford of Pikeville, brother of the bride, and Val O’Callaghan IV and Taylor O’Callaghan of Michigan, brothers of the groom.
Morgan Smith of Pikeville and Madison Webb of Snow Hill, cousins of the bride, were flower girls.
Chrislyn Kirkpatrick of Pikeville, cousin of the bride, was miniature bride. Jacob Smith of Pikeville, cousin of the bride, was miniature groom.
Judy Radford, aunt of the bride, directed the ceremony. Presiding at the register and distributing programs were Baillie Webb of Snow Hill and Hannah Kirkpatrick of Pikeville, cousins of the bride.
Dave Gurganus and Garland Bullock of Snow Hill were parking attendants.
A program of wedding music was provided by Lisa Byrd, pianist, and Jamie Smith and Janice Lipscomb, vocalists.
After a wedding trip to Myrtle Beach, S.C., the couple is residing in Pikeville.
The bride is a 2004 graduate of Charles B. Aycock High School. She is employed by Scrubz.
The groom graduated from Charles B. Aycock High School. He is employed by Southco Distributing.
Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents held a reception in the church fellowship hall. A three-tiered wedding cake with white roses trimmed in purple and white rose petals was served.
On June 18, Jennifer Woodley and Jerriann Maines, friends of the bride, and Mandy Smith, cousin of the bride, held a bachelorette party.
The groom’s father and John Radford, brother of the bride, held a bachelor party June 18.
On June 17, the groom’s parents held a cookout.
