Herndon-Phipps
Stephanie Lynn Phipps and Jason Allen Herndon were married Saturday, Feb. 21, at 2 p.m.
The Rev. Michael Garren officiated at the ceremony at Seymour Air Force Base Chapel.
Michael and Terry Stroud Phipps of Goldsboro are parents of the bride. She is the granddaughter of Eunice Stroud of Loris, S.C., the late Bertie H. Stroud, Pauline Phipps of Tabor City and the late H. Rudolph Phipps.
John and Sandra Herndon of Lynn Haven, Fla. are parents of the groom. He is the grandson of Virginia Donovan of Lynn Haven, Fla., the late Bernard Donovan, Flavis Herndon of Moultrie and the late Lula Herndon.
Given in marriage and escorted by her father, the bride wore a white satin A-line gown with pearl-beaded spaghetti straps, a tulle skirl and chapel train with a pearl and sequin embroidered bodice.
For her headpiece, she chose a two-tiered, pearl-covered veil attached to a white rose-covered hairpiece. She carried a cascading bouquet of white roses, babies breath and ivy.
Jennifer Phipps, sister of the bride, was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Kerrie Crawford and Miranda Wooten, friends of the bride.
Brandon Steers of Bakersfield, Calif., was his friend’s best man. Ushers were Joseph Michael of Erie, Pa., friend of the groom, and Anthony Jones of Loris, S.C., cousin of the bride.
Jessica Holmes, cousin of the bride, was flower girl. Adam Leonelli, cousin of the groom, was ring bearer.
Tommie Jones, aunt of the bride, directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Christina Bond, friend of the bride.
A program of wedding music was provided by Patsy Gardner, pianist.
After a wedding trip to the Bahamas, the couple is residing in Lajes Field, Terceira Azores, Portugal.
The bride is a 2002 graduate of Charles B. Aycock High School. She attended Wayne Community College.
The groom graduated from Lynn Haven High School in 2002. He is serving in the Air Force.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the Holiday Inn.
On Jan. 17, Tommie and Vicki Jones and Elaine Buffkin held a shower at the Jones home in Loris.
The bride’s mother and Jennifer Phipps, sister of the bride, held a shower Dec. 6 at the family home.
The groom’s parents held a rehearsal dinner at Madison’s Restaurant.
