Beverette Wells Davis, 82, Mount Olive resident, passed away Thursday morning, Aug. 30, at Brookdale on Berkeley in Goldsboro.
Having grown up in the Rones Chapel Community near Mount Olive, she was a member of Rones Chapel United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William C. Davis Sr.; a daughter, Winnifred Wells “Windy” Davis; her parents, Johnny Mac and Sadie Dixon Wells; a sister, Shirley Wells Ellis; and brothers, J. W. Wells, McCray “Crow” Wells, Everette “Shorty” Wells and Cecil Wells.
Her survivors include two sons, William C. “Bill” Davis Jr. of Mount Olive and Christopher James “Chris” Davis and wife, Amanda, of Cary; two grandsons, Zach and Jude Davis of Cary; three sisters, Peggy Wells Whitted of Harker Island, Linda Kay Wells of Mount Olive and Betty Wells Reaves and husband, Jimmy, of Little River, S.C.; sister-in-law, Evelyn W. Wells of Mount Olive; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Sept. 6, at 11 a.m. at Rones Chapel United Methodist Church, with pastor Valerie Hardison officiating, followed by burial in Maplewood Cemetery.
Visitation will be Tuesday, Sept. 5, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Tyndall Funeral Home.
Gifts in her memory may be presented to Rones Chapel Church, 138 Garner’s Chapel Road, Mount Olive, N.C., 28365.
