HAZEL LA VALLEY
Feb. 9, 1924-June 26, 2018
Hazel La Valley was born in Seven Springs to James Buren and Katie Makes Herring Feb. 9, 1924.
She graduated from Seven Springs High School.
Hazel led an active and social life.
She loved to travel, beautiful clothes and accessories.
Her love for animals and birds was well known.
Hazel and her late husband, Albert "Red" La Valley, were loyal Democrats. They lived in Jamestown, Fla., and lastly in Williamston, N.C.
As long as she was healthy enough, she made many visits to nursing homes bearing treats and gifts.
Hazel is survived by her loving sister, Carolyn Herring Griffin, and Carolyn's three daughters, Karla Griffin, Kelly Griffin and Allie G. Pierce and husband, Larry, all of Seven Springs, N.C.
Hazel and her nieces really had a close connection.
Terri Hubbard made Hazel's life as loved and comfortable as possible.
She took Hazel into her home, and cared for her as if she were her own mother. Hazel called Terri her "guardian angel," and we believe she was right.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
