HUBERT A. CREECH
July 7, 1940-June 11, 2018
Hubert “Hugh” Andrew Creech, 77, passed away Monday, June 11, 2018, at Wayne UNC Health Care surrounded by his family.
Hugh was born in Johnston County, N.C., July 7, 1940, to the late Hubert and Mettie Creech.
Hugh attended East Carolina University, and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in business administration.
He spent 14 years in the banking industry and 24 years in the insurance field.
He joined Wayne Realty and Insurance in 1990, serving in both insurance and real estate sales prior to joining the McMillan Real Estate Group in 1995, where he retired in 2015.
Hugh was a member of the Rotary Club for more than 20 years, serving as club photographer for the Goldsboro Rotary Club.
He was the recipient of the President’s Citation Award for years 2009 and 2010. Hugh was also a Paul Harris Fellow recipient.
Hugh served on the Wayne Community College Foundation Scholarship Fund for several years, which was one of his passions and joys.
He shared his passion for golf with family, friends and colleagues.Hugh enjoyed the many charity golf tournaments he participated in.
He also had a love for tennis, but most of al,l he treasured the time and love he shared with family and friends in participating in these activities.
A service to celebrate Hugh’s life will be Friday, June 15, 2018, at 7 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home.
Visitation will follow the service.
A private interment will be held at Wayne Memorial Park.
Hugh is survived by his wife, Linda Sutton Creech; daughters, Lisa Coleman of Savannah, Ga., Michele Hill and husband, Darold, of Cave Creek, Ariz., and Dana Youst and husband, Craig, of Raleigh; stepdaughter, Toni Floyd of Goldsboro; siblings, John Creech of Clinton, Ronnie Creech of Smithfield and Joyce Pittman of Pine Level; grandchildren, Lauren LeJeune, Michael Tompkins, Justin Tompkins, Drew Coleman, Morgan Youst, Ansley Youst, Dustin Norris, Lacey Norris and Matthew Parker.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a stepdaughter, Renee Norris, and siblings, Howard Creech, Pascal Creech and Smith Creech.
