Kathleen Rouse Hinson, 77, LaGrange, passed away Friday, May 11, 2018.
Kathleen was born Dec. 25, 1940, in Lenoir County to the late Melvin “Coon” Rouse and Hattie Garris Rouse.
Kathleen’s husband, Gene Morris Hinson, preceded her in death Nov. 19, 2004.
Life for Kathleen revolved around her family. Their wellbeing and happiness were a driving force in her life. Kathleen was a passionate believer in her family, and was her family's biggest cheerleader.
Kathleen’s warm smile and striking blue eyes endeared her to everyone she came in contact with.
You didn’t have to be near Kathleen long to see she loved the color red.
Blessed with a giving heart, Kathleen was always quietly willing to help others in need.
With Kathleen, what you saw is what you got. If she believed in something, she gave it her all, and her passion for the cause was noticed by all she touched.
Her love of nature could be seen everywhere around her home.
Blessed with great craft ability, Kathleen loved working with her hands.
Her green thumb and love of flowers was evident every time you pulled into her driveway.
Kathleen loved hummingbirds, and watching them brought her much joy.
She was a gifted cake decorator, and no one did southern cooking better than Kathleen. Her family has many fond memories of sitting around her table.
A lady of faith and prayer, Kathleen worshiped her Lord at Emmanuel Free Will Baptist Church.
A service to celebrate and honor Kathleen’s life will be held Friday, May 18, 2018, at 3 p.m. at Rouse Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Melvin Rouse Family Cemetery.
Kathleen is survived by her two daughters, Kim Fordham and Kathy Daniels and husband, Willie; two grandchildren, Misty Moye and Zachary Daniels; two great-grandchildren, Mason Wiggins and Maddox Greene; her beloved canine companion, Lucky; and seven siblings, Geraline Murphy, Thomas Rouse and wife, Frances, Linda Blackburn and husband, Bobby, Eleanor Williams and husband, Tim, Martha Turnage and husband, Ralph, Ricky Rouse and Johnny Rouse.
In addition to her parents and husband, Kathleen was preceded in death by a sister, Shirley McGee.
Family and friends will be received Friday from 2 to 3 p.m. at Rouse Funeral Home.
