Ricky Leon Briggs, 61, Kinston, passed away Monday, May 7, 2018, at his home.
Ricky was born in Apex, NC., and graduated from Northwood High School in 1974.
But then he moved to Kinston, and had lived here for the past 30 years.
He was a loving father and grandfather, and will be missed by many.
He was preceded in death by his father, William Briggs.
Ricky is survived by his son, Brandon Briggs and wife, Ashley, and their children, Madilyn, Isaiah and Taylor; daughter, Krissina Newcomb and husband, Craig, and their daughter, Kara; fianceé, Linda Cole Dutton and her sons, Justin and Micah; mother, Fannie Holland Beckwith; brothers, Jeff Briggs and wife, Renee, and his son, Matthew David Briggs and wife, Marlene, and their children, Holly, Megan and Katie.
Ricky was a fan of fishing, Duke University Athletics, Neuse Sports Shop, Jimmy Buffet and Margaritaville.
Friends attending his celebration of life service are encouraged to wear any attire related to these things that he enjoyed.
Visitation will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, May 10, 2018, at Howard-Carter Funeral Home.
Graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Friday, May 11, 2018, at Olive Baptist Church Cemetery in Apex, N.C.
Howard-Carter Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
