James Edwin "Buddy" Cartrette, 72, Fremont, died Wednesday at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville.
Funeral was Friday at 7 p.m. in the chapel of Shackleford-Howell Funeral Home. Graveside service with military honors was Saturday at 11 a.m. at Eureka Cemetery.
He was born in Washington, D.C., July 11, 1945, to the late John Emery and Mattie Keene Cartrette. He was married to Patricia Cox Cartrette.
