NORTON C. BATEMAN
June 30, 1933-Feb. 25, 2018
Norton Chryll Bateman, 84, formerly of Goldsboro, passed away Friday at Beacon Place in Greensboro.
He was born in Roanoke, Va., to the late George and Kathrine Bateman, and was the husband of the late Nell Bateman.
Mr. Bateman was a veteran of the United States Air Force, and was a past member of the Jaycees, the Masons, the Shriners and the Moose Lodge.
He was also a co-founder and partner in Liberty Healthcare.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home, with the Rev. David Moehring officiating.
The family will receive friends following the service at Brogden United Methodist Church.
Mr. Bateman is survived by a son, Michael Bateman of Greensboro; a sister, Sonya B. Underwood of Roanoke, Va.; a brother, George Ossie Bateman Jr. and wife, Carol, of Salem, Va.; and three grandchildren, Michael Chryll Bateman II, Anna Mason Bateman and Natalie Clair Bateman.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Brogden United Methodist Church, 2918 U.S. 117 South, Dudley, N.C., 28333.
