CHARLES E. HILL

Charles E. Hill, 75, passed away Tuesday at his home.
Charles was born in Wayne County, N.C., June 15, 1942, to the late Ed and Ruth Woodard Hill. He was married for 57 years to Carol Lane Hill.
Charles was retired after being a plumber in Wayne County for more than 30 years.
He enjoyed spending time with his family and watching NASCAR.
A loving husband, father, father-in-law, papa and brother, Charles leaves a lifetime of wonderful memories to those who knew and loved him.
In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by a sister, Faye Hill Capps; a brother, Max Hill; and a grandson, Cody Hill.
Funeral services will be held Friday, Feb. 9, 2018, at 2 p.m. at Goldsboro Worship Center, with pastor Danny Johnson officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.
In addition to his wife, Charles is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Jackie and Walter Melgar; sons and daughters-in-law, Jimmy Hill, James and Rachel Hill, Robert and Tammy Hill and Paul and Linne Hill; a special son, Charles T. Hill; grandsons, Daniel Hill and wife, Faith, Jim Bob Bailey and wife, Lizzy, Jeremy Hill, Dylan Melgar, Brad Bailey, Joshua Hill and Brian Melgar; granddaughters, Cameron Hill Wilson and husband, Jason, Nicole Hill and Dacey Hill; great-grandsons, Nick and Luke Wilson and Matthew Bailey; and great-granddaughters, Penelope Hill and Jewelray Bailey.
He is also survived by his brothers and sisters-in-law, Harold and Evelyn Hill, Ronnie and Vicky Hill, Olin and Marion Hill, Ricky and Cindy Hill and Kent Hill; sisters and brothers-in-law, Jean and Herbert Hartley, Carol and Steve Gerencser, Linda and Karl Morris, Donna and Buddy Keen and Susan and Larry Peedin; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Thursday, Feb. 8, 2018, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Goldsboro Worship Center and at other times, at the residence or following the funeral service at Oakland Fire Department.
