Tony Clay Butts, 77, of the Beautancus area near Mount Olive, passed away Friday evening, Feb. 2, at his home with his family at hand.
Funeral services will be Monday, Feb. 5, at 7 p.m. at Tyndall Funeral Home, with Pastor Jeffrey Dail officiating, followed by a time of visitation. Burial will be Tuesday, Feb. 6, at 11 a.m. at Wayne Memorial Park. The family also welcomes friends and relatives to their residence.
Mr. Butts, a retired electrician and foreman with Live Wire Electric and also a retired farmer, worshipped his Lord at Mount Olive First Pentecostal Holiness Church with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Maxine Kornegay Butts whom he married Oct. 12, 1958; their son, Anthony Butts of Mount Olive; two grandchildren, Jeanna Butts Haley and husband, Doug, of Alamogordo, N.M., and Clay Butts of Mount Olive; newborn great-granddaughter, Emilia Rose Haley; and brother, Mitchell Butts.
He was preceded in death by a beloved daughter-in-law, Rose Lambert Butts; and his parents, Maurice Clay Butts and Betty Grady Butts.
