Billie Vaden Lee, 93, passed away on Saturday, Feb. 3, 2018, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.

Billie was born in Wayne County April 8, 1924, to the late Vaden and Ida Radford Lee. He was married to the late Ernestine Casey Lee who preceded him in death on Oct. 26, 2010. Billie was a farmer and many of his happiest times were spent atop one of his tractors on the family farm and while visiting with friends on his back porch. He was a member of Casey's Chapel Original Free Will Baptist Church. Billie proudly served his country during World War II in the Merchant Marines.

Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 6, 2018, at 2 p.m. at Wayne Memorial Park, with pastors Tony McLamb and Alan Lamm officiating. The family will receive friends on Monday, Feb. 5, 2018, from 7 to 9 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home and other times at his home.

Billie is survived by his daughters, Donna Lee of Goldsboro and Janice Maddox and husband, Kevin, of Wake Forest; sons, Douglas Lee and wife, Diane, of Newtown Square, Pa., and Jerry Lee and wife, Susan, of Raleigh; and five grandchildren, Jenna Maddox, Hannah Lee, Liza Lee, Patrick Lee and wife, Karen, and Rebekah Lee. He is also survived by his sister, Dorothy Johnson; sister-in-law, Sarah McCormack; and several nieces and nephews.
