MINNIE BENNETT DAVENPORT

Mrs. Minnie Bennett Davenport, resident of the Seven Springs area, passed away Thursday, Feb. 1, 2018, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center. She was 81.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Feb. 3, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Tyndall Funeral Home, with burial following at Pineview Cemetery, Seven Springs. The family held visitation before the service. At other times, they will be at the home of Chestley and Beverly Taylor, 178 W. Pine Forest Road, Mount Olive.

Mrs. Davenport was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister with excellent homemaking skills. She had a servant's heart and had taken care of many family members during their final illnesses. She worshipped at Grant's Chapel Church.

Surviving family are her five children, Beverly Taylor and husband, Chestley, of Calypso, Carolyn Bruno and husband, Tony, of Jacksonville, Trent Price of Goldsboro, Wanda Hill and husband, Gary, of Nashville, and Perry Davenport of Seven Springs; two sisters, Nellie Gray Kissner of Beaufort, and Eva Mae Casey; 22 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Marlton Ray "Dink" Davenport; her parents, Perry and Mary Gautier Bennett; a brother, Perry "Bud" Bennett Jr.; and two sisters, Annie Mae B. Walker and Mary Lou B. Kinsey.
