FRANCES WIGGS STEVENS JACKSON

Frances Jackson passed peacefully Friday morning at the Brian Center of Goldsboro. She was born in Johnston County and preceded in death by her parents, Addison and Jessie Jernigan Wiggs, and her siblings: Walter Wiggs, John Wiggs, Mattie Wiggs Stuckey, Adele Wiggs Barden, Emma Wiggs Riley, Robert Wiggs, Kenneth Wiggs, Alda Wiggs Holmes, Mavis Wiggs Hammond, and Hazel Wiggs Cooper.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George Bryan Stevens; and their son, David Addison Stevens.
Surviving children: Sallie Stevens of the home, Grantham, N.C., Carolyn Stevens Kornegay and husband, Roger, Grantham, N.C., Margaret Stevens Staley and husband, James, Fuquay-Varina, N.C., Ed Stevens and wife, Cindy, Grantham, N.C., and Jessie Stevens Smith and husband, Chris, Grantham, N.C.
Surviving grandchildren: Tracy Stevens Williams, David John Stevens and wife, Christie, Stacey Kornegay Kelley and husband, Jesse, Sarah Kornegay Darden and husband, Allen, Myra Staley Manning and husband, Neal, George Staley, Cody Stevens, Katie Stevens Clarkson and husband, Peter, William Smith and girlfriend, Elisa Torres; and 11 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by Peggy Stevens and her family; several nieces, nephews, and many others who called her Mama Frances.
A service to celebrate her life will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2018, at 3 p.m. in the sanctuary of Falling Creek United Methodist Church in Grantham, with the Rev. Greg Moser officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday at the church prior to the service, beginning at 1:30 p.m.
