Donald "Don" Brian Grady, 57, Goldsboro, passed away suddenly on Thursday, Feb. 1, 2018.
Don was born in Wayne County on Sept. 10, 1960, to the late Doyle A. Grady and Margaret Herring Grady. He had a wonderful sense of humor and never took himself too seriously. Don was a good man and had a generous heart. He provided a wonderful home for his family and gave all he could to his family and strangers alike. Don loved fishing, hunting, working in his yard but most of all his family. He was a member of the Elroy Fire Department with over 40 years of service. Don was known for his ability to do almost anything and to master it. Those of us who knew Don, weep at our loss, laugh with our remembrances and reflect deeply on how much he meant to us. He made the world a healthier and happier place.
A service to celebrate Don's life will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2018, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home, with the Rev. Brad Mitchell officiating. Interment will be in Wayne Memorial Park with fireman honors. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, Feb. 6, 2018, from 6 to 9 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home and other times at his home.
Don is survived by his wife, Robin Smith Grady; children, Joshua Singleton and wife, Barbara Carol, and Hannah Singleton and friend, Benjamin Smith; grandchildren, Jensen Singleton and Heidi Singleton; brothers, Joe Grady (Terri) and David Grady (Sherry); sisters, Sylvia Grady and Kathy Henderson (David); special aunt, Sallie Strickland; and several nieces and nephews, including a special nephew, Daniel Buck, that he loved very much.
