HILDA W. WILLIAMS

Aug. 8, 1962-Jan. 29, 2018

Hilda Ann Whaley Williams completed her journey home Monday, Jan. 29, 2018, to the welcoming words, "Well done, my good and faithful servant."

Hilda was born in Lenoir County Aug. 8, 1962, to Virgil and Lottie Whaley of Trenton.

She was a graduate of Andersonville Theological Seminary, where she earned a degree in education.

Hilda then embarked on her career as an educator with Wayne Christian School. She was a dedicated teacher, and she loved and cared deeply for her students.

Hilda served Wayne Christian School in many ways during her 18 years with the school, but will fondly be remembered for the impact she made on so many students while teaching second grade.

Her warmth, generosity and kind spirit were well known and cherished by those she encountered throughout her life.

Hilda was also a caring, loving parent and grandmother, whose primary goal was the happiness and security of her family.

She was a member at Unity Free Will Baptist Church, and supported her husband in his ministry as a pastor's wife.

Most importantly, Hilda loved her Savior, the Lord Jesus, with all her heart, and she loved God's word. She was constantly memorizing Bible verses, and praying those verses over those she loved and her students.

Though she was a humble, gentle woman, Hilda was nonetheless a powerful prayer warrior, and only heaven knows what a wonderful and eternal impact all her many years of faithful praying have had on her family, her friends and the world at large.

The family will receive friends Friday, Feb. 2, 2018, from 12:30 to 2 p.m. at Trinity Baptist Church, 1086 N.C. 111, Goldsboro, N.C., 27534.

A service to celebrate Hilda's Christian life will follow the visitation at 2 p.m. in the sanctuary, with her husband and pastor, the Rev. Pete Williams officiating, and will be assisted by the Rev. Jacks Sauls and Dr. Ashley Shook. Interment will be in Pineview Cemetery.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband of almost 35 years, Pete Williams; son and daughter-in-law, Trey and Liz Williams; daughter, Kaytlyn Anne Williams; and the apple of her eye, her granddaughter, Caroline Ann Williams.

She is also survived by her sisters, Alice Chapmon and husband, Lynn, Mary Mclawhorn and husband, Raymond, and Linda Rochester and husband, Ben; mother and father-in-law, Janet and Emmett Williams Sr.; and several nieces and nephews she loved very much.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be given to an educational fund in care of Unity Free Will Baptist Church, 2254 Will Cunningham Road, Deep Run, N.C., 28525.

Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.seymourfuneralhome.com.
