Mavis Pate Williford, 92, Patetown community, went to be with her Lord and Savior Monday, Jan. 8, 2018, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center in Goldsboro.
Homegoing service will be held Friday, Jan. 12, 2018, at 7 p.m. at United in Christ Church in Goldsboro.
The family will receive friends following the service.
A graveside service will be held Saturday, Jan. 13, 2018, at 10 a.m. at Pate Family Cemetery in Patetown.
Mrs. Williford was a native of Wayne County, born April 18, 1925, to the late George Melvin and Sallie Mae Gardner Pate.
She was the devoted and loving wife of the late Rev. R.N. Williford.
Mrs. Williford was a member of United in Christ Church.
She leaves to cherish her memories two sons, the Rev. Ira G. Williford and wife, Shellie, of Goldsboro and the Rev. Richard N. Williford II and wife, Debbie, of Fayetteville; two daughters, Vicki W. Aycock and husband, Reed, of Pikeville and Gale W. Ard and husband, the Rev. Flemon Ard, of Tennessee; two brothers, Mickey Forehand and wife, Barbara, and Joseph Albert Forehand of Goldsboro; two sisters, Maxine Sasser and Sarah Smith of Patetown; eight grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Larisa Ard Jenkins.
Although flowers are welcome, memorial contributions may be directed to United in Christ Church, 1314 Patetown Road, Goldsboro, N.C., 27530.
The family is in the care of Howell Funeral Home and Crematory in Goldsboro.
