CHERRY GUTHRIE SUGG

Cherry Ann Guthrie Sugg, 82, peacefully passed away Saturday, Jan. 6, 2018, at home surrounded by her family.

She was born June 13, 1935, in Comanche County, Okla., to the late Harold Coleman Guthrie and Mable Terry Guthrie.

Cherry and her husband, William Gordon Sugg, owned and operated Ted's Tires in Goldsboro.

She loved Adamsville Baptist Church, and was a dedicated and faithful servant her entire life. Cherry was also a member of Grace Baptist Class.

She had a large extended circle of family and friends, and they were all very special to her.

Cherry was the kindest and most loving mother and grandmother and a great friend to everyone. She will be missed by all who were blessed enough to know her, and will be remembered for her love of gardening, cooking and working in her yard as it always showed.

The family will receive friends Thursday, Jan. 11, 2018, from 11 a.m. to noon at Seymour Funeral Home, followed by a service to celebrate her life in the chapel at noon, with the Rev. Ryan Fullerton officiating. Interment will follow at Wayne Memorial Park.

Cherry is survived by her daughter, Nancy S. Dawson of Goldsboro; son, William H. Sugg and wife, Melissa, of Goldsboro; sisters, Betty Southard and husband, Jim, of Elk City, Okla., Judy Farris of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Jeannie Wilson and husband, Dean, of Weatherford, Okla.; grandchildren, Brad Sugg and wife, Morgan, Ashley Dawson, Lezlie Nassef and husband, Jamie, Alexis Sanders and husband, Nolan, and Morgan Wise; six great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Gordon Sugg, and son-in-law, Roy Dawson.

The family would like to extend its heartfelt appreciation to Cherry's caregivers, Denise Richardson, Towana Byers, Rose Grice, Wanda Lane and Clasien Graven. The family would also like to thank Community Home Care and Hospice nurses, Crystal and Brittany, for the loving care they provided during her recent illness.
